We should name the booth at Levi after Wilks.

The niner equivalent to Vance Joseph.

Both suck and were secondary coaches. Mismanage everything only to have player talent bail them out. 3rd and 2... lets play off coverage. They are the same dame person and both need to go from their respective teams.
There is no excuse now. That front 7 is as good as 2019. At least that good. On paper anyway. Study what the previous corrdinators did and do that. No more of this nonsense system.

Passion. Find it. Both coaches had it and so did their players.
How good was our D coordinator during the first five games?

This hire still puzzles me. The only year he had a good defense was 2017 with panthers. but lets be honest ron rivera was probably calling the shots on that defense. 2019 with browns they were mid and had a bottom 5 run defense. Then got hired in Missouri 2021 and turn their defense to bad to literally worst in college football. Like what did shanahan saw from this guy.
Ok, we just acquired chase Young. Earth to Wilks: this defense is built front to back!!! If Wilks can't scheme and generate a pass rush with THIS front 4 Wilks has no business being our, or any team's DC!

He wasn't. The same issues were there, and the schedule was a lot easier.

The Rams and Cardinals (to a lesser extent) did the same things the Browns, Vikings and Bengals did. Nacua in that Rams game was killing us.

What changed is that the offense isn't jumping out to that quick lead anymore and that was covering up a lot of the issues.

There wasn't an excuse before either. Wilks better adjust and get this s**t done.

Hopefully the team still has their 2022 playbook. The defense will have to produce despite the coaching and play calling.

hah, watching the defense give up a 3rd & 9 on a QB draw makes me want to blow my brains out.

Had obvious flaws that are now being exposed through film of his incompetency. Dude sucks. Teams know his tendencies and have exploited them. There were red flags in our domination of the steelers, showed up massively against the rams, had his best game against the cowboys for 80% of the game and is now being keyed on and exploited like clockwork.

He is from an era that cant relay information to the QB before the turn the helmet mic off... now they just let Wilks show his hand and take the easy passes knowing our defense hasnt practiced tackling since Ryans was the DC. Thats the difference between a secondary coach and a LB/DL coach as a DC.

That's well into "pulled my groin putting my shoes on" territory.

LOL, not really. It's not like he is Fangio or Zimmer's age.

Yes I agree. I still don't want this coordinator.

Fangio is timeless. I could picture him doing a backspin to windmill on the Fins sideline. They probably keep him in the booth to prevent the spectacle of it all.
