His defenses have not been known to cause turnovers, ranking as 16th, 28th, 19th, 27th in turnovers caused. Turnovers can be a tricky thing to predict and aren't exactly an indication of a good defense. It sure helps, though, and hopefully the best talent Wilks' has had in his coaching career (2023 49ers) will help.

RDE: Nick Bosa; Clelin Ferrell & Alex Barrett
3T: Javon Hargrave; Kalia Davis
2i: Arik Armstead; Kevin Givens & Javon Kinlaw
LDE: Drake Jackson (add Melvin Ingram & Kerry Hyder?)
PS: Expect Hargrave and AA to rotate inside too.
Kalia Davis is one of guys I'm most excited to follow this training camp. He seems to be a similar player to gravedigger physique wise and both are quick.
Absolutely. Keep your eye on him. He has a strong D.J. Jones-like skill set and now he's learning from Kocurek, Hargrave, AA, Bosa, etc. He could become a very talented rotational piece for us extending longevity for AA and Hargrave.
This would be very nice if he could become a strong rotational piece for our dline

Kalia Davis is more in the mold of Givens rather than DJ Jones. I think Ferrel starts and DJ comes in on pass rushing downs. Love the idea of adding Ingram

Let's hope so esp. since Wilks will have more focus on the LB and secondary in coverage schemes. Kocurek will own that front 4 and rotation. This could be an excellent marriage.

I love this *Marriage.* some of Walsh's best super bowl defenses were under a DB coach in Siefert.

I don't think he will get a call after 1 season.
Ditto. There would have to be like 10 openings. I'm thinking he is here like 2-3 years. Only way he is gone next year is if our defense is the 85 Bears, 2000 Ravens, 02 Bucs, 2013 Seahawks (hurts saying that).

Totally agree. I just want us to eliminate the big plays happening against us. If we can perform at a 2021 level of limiting big plays while still generating turnovers at a 2022 rate, look out.

I'm thinking we are still looking for a space eater/DJ Jones replacement. Didn't they talk to Keondre Coburn?
Hoping the depth chart shakes out like this
RDE: Nick Bosa; Clelin Ferrell & Austin Bryant, rookie (Isaiah McGuire? Zach Harrison?)
3T: Javon Hargrave; Kalia Davis
2i: Arik Armstead; Kevin Givens & Javon Kinlaw, TY McGill, rookie (Keondre Coburn?)
LDE: Drake Jackson (Byron Young? )
Probably overkill on the rookies (3 D lineman), but a fair number of guys can be safety put on the practice squad, particularly if the rookies and Kalia Davis really show us something in camp.

I don't have him on the "list" but if you can confirm that connection, let me know!
But yes, if you look at the DT's they've looked at, I'd say that's a fair assessment. And ER will certainly be a top pick too.

Former Cardinals exec Terry McDonough filed an arbitration claim today to Roger Goodell against Cardinals' owner Michael Bidwell, alleging cheating, discrimination and harassment. Bidwill said the claims are baseless.https://t.co/MShAKIGk5M

Wilks is being brought up in the allegation here.
McDonough maintained that both he and former Cardinals head coach Steve Wilks were left no choice but to follow Bidwill's plan to use burner phones to communicate with former Arizona general manager Steve Keim while Keim was serving a five-week suspension after pleading guilty to extreme DUI in Arizona.
McDonough said he still has the phone, which he said contains the evidence of the cheating scandal, as well as additional documentation.
In a detailed response sent to ESPN, the Cardinals strongly denied the allegations, calling them "outlandish."

Bidwell's defense reportedly will revolve around the concept, how can we be guilty of cheating, we haven't won anything
