Yeah, I'd love for him to stay for 3 years, but not going to happen. Guy is making peanuts as a DC, when he can make ten times that (or more) as a HC, even if he sucks as a HC and only coaches for a year or two, he's financially set for the rest of his life. Plus I want those comp picks. If you have all the defensive talent that the 49ers have, you can put Fartsula back there as DC and you will have a top defense regardless.
Go see the Falcons offense in 2017. It isn't easy.
I want 3 years so there's enough time to identify and groom a successor. Plus I'd like some continuity with our coaching staff and he has to be here 2 years in order for you to get picks.
Finally, he's the DC, not the defensive quality control coach. Meaning he isn't making peanuts lol. You also have to remember he had the full value of the Cardinals coaching contract. Of course he'd make substantially more as a HC, but my point is an NFL coordinator is very well compensated :).
