If Wilks leaves for whatever reason, I personally want our next DC to be a passionate sideline cheerleader of sorts. Similar to how Saleh and Ryans were.

Experience and Resume isn't as important to me.

In your face, passionate, sideline presence, supportive, enthusiastic and energetic is what we need again!

That sounds like Pete Carrol.

He's available now!!! our next DC

I will be shock if he wants to be a DC at this point in his career. He might as well just retire.

That's not remotely realistic.

I'm amazed the DC in Baltimore isn't a top coach candidate.

Other franchises love to poach the 49er's organisation - I truly thought they'd have at least 2 seasons before teams started their enquiries.

Yeah I didn't think wilks would be poached this quick and I still think there is a good chance he stays.

i could see the POS owner for the chargers just interviewing him cause he's close and would justify the Rooney rule. I hate thinking that would happen to him cause he more than deserves to be taken seriously as a HC, but I could see a crap owner like spanos doing that.

also, i think wilks dodged a bullet not getting the Carolina job. I think he would of done a better job than the last guy but that owner seems like an awful person to work for

It's approx 30+ years old, so not far off from 40. Lol

This is I think his senior hs pic? I like the tie with the letterman jacket. Nice touch imo lol

This is correct. After a deeper dive, they've allowed fewer passing yards per game but still ranked lower. I haven't called to fire him, but the defense doesn't seem as dominant as past years. Hopefully if improves in the post season.

doesnt seem to be as dominant but it is

you are romanticizing last year and that's probably because Bosa almost had 2x the sacks last year (and FWIW we have more sacks as a team this year)

They added Hargrave and Chase Young, at minimum you'd expect that the defense would have more sacks than last year.

You'd expect a jump with Hargrave, but I'm not sure Chase Young is a better player than Charles Omenihu at this point.

Oops, of course...haha.

I guess my mind has done a good job blocking that out.

But in fairness to my original point, let's call it an "earned" 24+...

Bengals scored almost as much, with I think just one turnover.

We had 3 turnovers against the Bengals, one of which was deep in our own territory.
