I am worrying if 49ers defense coordinator seem bad calls? The 49ers defense looks not good cuz gave up for the score to kill us.

There probably weren't any adjustments made. Coaches don't make in game adjustments during preseason games, just have a certain set they want to see the players execute.

Well in two years with DeMeco Ryans in preseason, only the Packers scored more than 20 points against the Niners and it was 21.
We'll see of course what will happen in the regular season with the starters but what happened yesterday was not a good look.

Score, stats, and standings don't matter in preseason imo. It's about the guys on the fringe of the roster, what they are putting on film? Are they lining up correct, knowing their assignments, and executing on a play by play basis? You get a lot of film now, where they can go to each of these players, walk thru the game and how they did. So it's about which guys helped their case to make the team, and get up the depth chart, and which guys didn't.

He will get blamed for it, but honestly, I think the overall depth on the defense is much weaker this year. They have to rely on young guys like Kalia Davis to step up, and I'm not sure its in the cards.

Posted this on the gameday thread yesterday but Wilks calls the games green the booth instead of the field. I wonder how this will impact the players who were used to Salehs and Ryan's energy. Hopefully Wilks can scheme better up there and he has enough assistants for the field work.

We are loaded and we are gonna show out. I mean you have AA, Bosa, Hargrave, Drake as your front 4. That is insane. If these guys are healthy... Then you have Dre & Fred. Huf year 3, adding a good prospect in Brown, Ward was great last year, Gip coming back, and we finally have a hands on DB specialist, to get the most out of all these young DBs.

Only downside here, he will probably be a one and done DC

problem is you have to run your base vanilla stuff in the preseason to evaluate players, and not show your hand for the first few games on what you will do

I don't understand why our fans ignore this. We don't show anything in the preseason. We just want to make it out of these meaningless games with a healthy roster.

Congrats to you Wilks. We just lost D'Shawn Jamison to the Panthers because you wanted Isaiah Oliver so bad, who has been hot garbage since he got here. If Jamison turns out to be good and Oliver shows us nothing more than what he's shown us, I'll be the first to be calling for your job.

Agree, but all is not lost, Ja'aire Brown and Darryl Luter Jr. are still on the team. I think we have a much deeper DB squad going into this season than last year. Wilks is going to be instrumental in coaching up (I hope) our average DB's to become (hopefully) great DB's even if we didn't add (or in this case with D'Shawn) lose talent.
