Wilks Legacy game incoming.

I hope it's a winning legacy!

He started doing some exotic stuff in the 2nd half of both playoff games. hope that continues into the Superbowl.

It wouldn't shock me 1 bit if Shanahan was restricting him in both 1st half's.

If the 2nd half defense was indeed all Wilks, then Shanahan needs to just let him cook.

Why would Shanahan restrict, or even meddle at all with the defensive gameplan? Dude has been taking heat for the SB collapse vs NE when he was the offensive coordinator, while Quinn was the HC and defensive coordinator. I don't get it.

agree - that take makes no sense.

KS is head coach. My understanding is we bring Wilks in, but we tell him we are running this D that we have been running. Cuz it's been working. So it's Wilks having to adapt his methods to more of our methods. They have openly said this during the year. They don't just give Wilks carte blanche to do whatever he wants on the D. He can do what he wants within a given framework that comes from higher up.
They just had DeMeco Ryans on the radio saying he's rooting for the 49ers. They asked him if he could tell Wilks how to set the edge. Ouch!!!

It's about having class and showing a lil respect. We were 3rd in D this year in ppg. Lot of clubs would trade places to be where we are, Ryans included, he's watching the game.

The defense struggled big time to get off the field against the Lions. We can't allow that to happen against the Chiefs otherwise Kelce will put up record numbers against us.

The way I look at it GB and DET have some players. These are the elite teams of the NFC. GB put a near 50 spot on Quinn, now a HC. We held GB to 21, and picked Love 2x. He entered the game red hot. GB had zero TDs in the first half and 6 pts. So there was some very good stuff there. And vs Lions also, it's a question of do you focus on the first half which was poor, or the 2nd half which was great. If you look at the whole game, it's a mixed bag. But ppl on here talk like it's the worst game of all time, hey we won. Maybe the worst first half, but a very strong 2nd half. They scored no points in the 2nd half, outside of garbage time.

When we beat the Chiefs we'll have send the Packers and Lions thank you baskets for prepping the 49ers' for the real contest.
me thinks this is Wilks last game as a 9er DC

It's interesting, cuz our big knock was we don't come from behind, and he haven't had a lot of adversity. The postseason was completely different from the regular season. I'd be the first to say we haven't played well this postseason, or up to our standard. And I view that on both sides of the ball. But we have done enough on both sides to win and particularly in winning time, which is late game. It's like a glass half full situation but given we are still playing and in the Super Bowl, it's hard to complain much. I have respect for both GB and DET and they probably figure to be in the mix going forward in the NFC.
I have little to zero faith in out defense right now.
