Prepare to be disappointed

Why do you think the defensive ranking will tumble under Wilks?
It's football, pretty tough to be or stay at #1 in a lot of categories

it will take a few weeks to adjust to the new system

compared to Ryans its a very similar base scheme both run cover 3. The main difference is Wilks doesn't run cover 2 at all. Wilks also like to blitz more.

I do think they will be an adjustment period early on but we will hit out stride later in season close to playoffs

Swapping systems of a #1 defense seems risky.

Any new DC will change the scheme a bit, even if the DC was promoted from within. Wilks won't be making whole sale change, but there has to be some changes.
We haven't even played our first game under him. Give the guy a chance.

No he's already failed

If you aren't the #1 defense before the season even starts what are we even talking about?

I am, but I guess I can't be nervous about him?

He has a near-impossible standard to live up to. Feeling nervous about him doing so should be pretty natural, regardless of who'd the replacement be.

Don't worry guys. They're in tier 1 already.

I am not personally worried if they are #1 or #5.

Just need to be able to close out games in the playoffs.

KC seems to do just fine with a slightly above average defense.

As long as the 9ers remain a top 10 defense it doesn't matter to me. What matters is that the 49ers are tough vs the run and I don't remember a Steve Wilks ever being a good run defense. The 49ers dropped 143 yards on his defense last season.

KC will always be fine bc they have an elite qb
Hope to see him put a stop on Pittsburg tomorrow
Alright Man on the Moon, let's roll.
