Ward should have played it safe and knock it away but in no way can you excuse Wilks egregious call there saying Ward was in position. That was a flat out dangerous call for no reason. As some one said it was high risk low reward.

People are defending Wilks because of point totals. 22 pts is not that much, but it is the long drives and the way the defense gets gashed this year that is bad. An all out blitz there with nothing on the back end is ill advised. Almost insane given the situation. Only bad things can happen.
