I think players have to make plays that are on a platter to be made

Whats the point of putting Ward on an island like that when we can't do anything even if we generate a stop or a turnover. The risk isn't worth the reward. Ward f**ked up in execution but that shouldn't be the only safety net we have in that situation. It was an awful play.

I don't know if Ward is supposed to be on an island, you had a safety on the play Gip, he bites up on something for some reason (just going off the broadcast)

PERSONALLY, that play was just UNFORTUNATE because Ward had the ball.. bottom line is, all game long, our DC kept dialing the WRONGGGGG PLAYS !!!

That isn't a time to be blitzing. It's a prevent scenario. You let them complete a short meaningless pass underneath.

We have been doing this backwards at the end of halves in multiple games.

I'm not watching that game again or the Cleveland one to see if true but seems like the offenses were well coached against our simplistic defensive scheme. If we had a four front they knew we were only rushing four and if they spread the defense out someone would pop open underneath because we were sitting back hoping we would get pressure with a basic rush. When we looked like we would blitz (more guys on the line or line backers pinched down), teams knew we were blitzing and would audible to take a shot or quick short pass. I know we don't but looks like we have only 2 alignments the whole game on defense and Kirk and pj knew where the safe play was.

Its exactly what his defenses looked like in Arizona. Guys out of position, complete inability to stop the run, players complained about too many moving parts and could not get stops to save their lives once an offense got rolling.

Al Holcomb was the DC so he got most of the blame then but I'm seeing the same issues here.

I agree. He might be smart but he's clearly doing stuff that's limiting the guys ability to just play. He's not in the same universe as Ryan's or Saleh.

I think we need to change it up. The pass rush is nothing like it used to be, yet we have better personnel. I feel like opposing coaches just have a solid idea how to attack that scheme now and couple that with our secondary playing two years off everyone it's not working out.

I do think Gip most probably effs up the play and Ward is in perfect position to pick it off, he effs that execution also
i'll modify to questionable scheme on that play and bad execution from 2 DBs

When your talent gets better but your defense gets worse, there's only one reason why: coaching. Wilks is an absolute problem and if we can't get the defense turned around to more positive than negative, he's gotta go.
