I have said it several times already but Steve Wilks has made every defense he has been in control of worse. He has never been able to stop the run or get pressure on the QB using the defensive line. He always utilizes the secondary to do those things. He was a secondary coach most of his career and it seems that is all he knows. He can't scheme for linebackers and for the line. He has no stunts or game plans for them. Its TE stunt or nothing. He is over his head and could be a good dbacks coach. I would never let him do anything above that. We need a new DC right now or there is no shot at a Super Bowl

Exactly this. We should be better but somehow they got a lot worse. Pass rush is non existent. Backend looks lost. It's a clusterf**k.

I think we need to change it up. The pass rush is nothing like it used to be, yet we have better personnel. I feel like opposing coaches just have a solid idea how to attack that scheme now and couple that with our secondary playing two years off everyone it's not working out.

Wilkes, as a secondary coach, likes to run more of a 4-2-5 nickel defense (4 lineman, 2 linebackers, 5 defense backs).

The issue is that we don't have the secondary personal for that. Lenoir, Oliver and Thomas are massive liabilities in coverage. The fact that the defensive line can't generate enough pressure isn't helping the secondary either.

He's also a coach who prefers to blitz more then Demeco did.

However, this pisses me off the most

Separate himself from some of the emotion on the v field. You're a defensive coordinator, defense is pretty much emotion. The defense fed off of Salah and Demeco being on the sideline and getting pumped when they did something

We got the same personnel from last year with the addition of Hargrave and we look worse. I can just imagine what Saleh and Ryans would do with this d. Wilks is going to be a reason why this season fails

How can you be this bad with this much talent? That takes some real doing.

Absolutely horrible f**king game plan by this guy today & he never adjusted to Kirk -f**king- Cousins who ripped us apart

The team is playing uninspired. All we see of Wilks is him in the booth not interacting or celebrating. There's a lot too that.
