Coach - Steve Wilks thread

I hope Kyle has the balls to tell Wilkes he's crashing the Ferrari. Before it's too late. And hopefully, Wilkes is wise enough to hear all this noise and adjust his scheme. There's not enough time to be gentle here

can't figure that one, because it's incorrect. Is there defense worse than Denver, or so many other teams?

Wilks can't hear it. He's too far away in the booth, doesn't have a smart phone and doesn't subscribe to social media. Dude doesn't even have wireless or WiFi.
Lol I could tell early on in the game this was going to be a disaster by Wilks..you can just tell, it was bad from the start. I was hoping for adjustments after the half but didn't get my hopes up. I was calling for Ryans early on in the game. I want DeMeco to hold me and tell me it's ok haha

I've been out all day and haven't kept up with this thread but the Kocurek suggestion brings to mind something I think is missing from the sideline - the fire that Saleh and Ryans brought is there with Kocurek. With Wilkes up in the box, the defense is missing that immediate emotional connection that fires every good defense. The defense fed on the emotions of their leader/coach with the prior two. It kept them focused and connected. With Wilkes, all that is missing.

When he was in Carolina, Wilkes worked from the sideline. It's time for Kyle to bring him down to the sideline and let him feel the game.

If all this has already been covered, scroll on, but it has been on my mind since last night.

Yes mentioned last night by a poster with images. This thread blew up unfortunately in a bad way.

Yeah, when he was at Carolina, he was on the sidelines..I wonder why that changed in SF..maybe he thought he could be more refined or whatnot, less distractions idk..or maybe just have his Doordash uninterrupted lol. 🍟 🥪

It's too separate himself from the emotion on the field.

For the first time under Shanahan, San Francisco's defensive coordinator plans to be up in the booth during game days, a move he said allows him to separate himself from some of the emotion on the field and allows for a better vantage point to call plays.

Ah ok..can't handle the emotion lol

Seeing Shanny's presser..he does not seem happy with Wilks at all rn

We shall see..

sure, we allow fewer ppg
that's what's changed,

And a lot of yards. Our guys are still talented and can keep teams out the endzone. But we are surrendering a lot of yards compared to our usual standard. Also, its less than a 1 point difference per game so I'm not jumping for joy over giving up less when we've gone from number 1 to number 8 in yards.

looks like a clear tripping on Bosa why is he on the ground

It's clearly incidental. Not getting that call.

Bosa is always on the ground....that was something that stood out in his college film too. It was a point of contention in the pre-draft back and forth between Bosa and the DT.

It is something you just have to live with, because it is Nick Bosa doing it, any other player would be called out a ton, but Bosa actually produces.. Even now when he is not getting sacks he is still regularly getting pressure. I was gonna say Bosa reminds me of Avril right now with lots of QB hits, but always a step away from the sack...but even Avril never had a ratio this bad or hits to actual sacks.

Bosa leads the league in QB hits....dude has 2.5 sacks and 2 of them someone forgot to block him..... sighhhh
