My only thought is the guy has been around the block. He bombs out here he is going on some podcast for the rest of his career. I would hope he is intelligent enough to realize it, but I'm thinking he is not a strong x/O mind. Someone with his experience should be a whiz, but he seems dated and easy to figure out.

Has Shanahan ever fired a coach during the season? I can't recall one being fired. I feel like he'd rather work with a coach and find ways to address the issues than fire them. I can't see Wilks getting fired unless he's a stubborn old fart and refuses to listen to Shanny, which he may be.

It appears most everyone understands where the problem lies. Including the national media that finally picked up on what a poor Job Wilks is doing. That only leaves ShannaLynch to figure it out.

DeMeco's defense was destroyed by the Chiefs week 7 last season and even by the Raiders with Stidham making his first career start.
It's only one week. Let's see this week against the Bengals.
Kocurek has to do better and the players too.
As for Wilks, he should never have called that blitz before the half. That was just stupid and those 6 points made all the difference at the end of the game.
The offense concerns me more than the defense honestly. The run game was bad the last two weeks and even against Dallas CMC was a non factor on the ground.

Probably not, but he may start to lose his locker room.

The offense hasn't been opening those gaping holes on runs. Could it be the loss of McGlinchey? I know he was a poor pass blocker but he was a very good run blocker.
