SWH he's a #3 overall pick in crap environments where QBs go to die.. QB here is simple stuff by comparison.. you really can't see a 25 year old QB on bad teams having a new lease on life here?

My one and only point is that we better not have spent a lot of money on him. If he is being paid like a 3rd stringer, fantastic. I am all in on that. If he is being paid like a QB2 because he is better than everyone else's QB3, then I have a problem. That's money that could/should be spent elsewhere.

Can you even keep 3 QBs past preseason? Don't teams only carry 2 Qbs with their active roster?

I feel like in this situation if we put Darnold on our practice squad someone is going to swoop in a take him.

I guess this works out if Purdy starts season out on IR.

Sam Darnold is lightyears better than Josh Johnson. One thing about Darnold is that he can swindle some fans into falling in love with him. He makes some of the craziest wow, elite-level throws that few QBs can make and then follow up with bad plays like throwing boneheaded INTs or completely missing wide open schemed open receivers.

It´s really weird. I wait for the salary.

Think of it as QB rehab.

A year under Shanny and Griese and his reputation will bounce back in 12 months time.

On a smaller scale Nate Sudfeld looked good last offseason/preseason and turned that into a contract with the Lions.

I say this they will get these guys on the field this offseason and see what they can do and what ways they can help the team. Both Sam and TL got a lot of growth / development if they are willing to put in the work. The resources, coaching, talent it is all here for them to take advantage. We are a long way from setting any kind of chart.

You can carry 3 QBs but only 53 players can be active each week. Teams usually only have 2 QBs active.
