A) You've said almost all his passes were dump offs and screens. Crickets from you after video evidence has been presented.
B) You've said Brock's arm is below average and can't make deep throws or throws to the sideline. Once video evidence, MPH evidence is provided, you shift the argument.
It seems that you can only justify Darnold starting if Purdy isn't as good as the "team" thinks (not Shanahan though, he apparently has no say on who his starting QB is in your mind). The only way that a guy who has played inconsistent ball could be overlooked is if there's some nebulous team conspiracy to prop up a weak-armed poor statted QB like Purdy. If only the "team" could see what you see.
Did you not watch the video? When was the last time the 49ers had QB who could make the throws that Sam Darnold made last year?
Purdy often does 5 yard hitches and screens and the occasional intermediate passes to wide open receivers. His long completions are typically short passes that rely on receivers yac. This is Kyle's ingenuity to fit Purdy's and Jimmy's skillsets.
You saw the different plays that Shanahan called for both Purdy and Darnold during the preseason. The deep outside the numbers passes were never called for Purdy or Jimmy.

A) Steve Young has no idea what the inner workings of Kyle Shanahan's decision-making.
B) He's speaking of the team, like the players and everyone in the org, being behind Brock because he's got some special s**t going on.
Maybe read more of the article and you'll understand why Brock is the starting QB on the 49ers. Did you even watch this team last year, or do you follow Darnold around from forum to forum? Can we find your posts in NYJ and Carolina Panther forums too? I think chances are likely.
I'll say it again. Mike Tomlin is not worried about Purdy. It's Kyle's offense that he's worried about. Brock and Jimmy had the same stats last year. Kyle has created a system that can plug in any average QB.
Well, I guess it stands to reason then, that there's a team conspiracy (Steve Young is aware of it, but he won't tell us who is pulling the strings. All we know is that Kyle and John are not) to hold back a superstar like Darnold from starting so that an average QB like Purdy with a weak arm, who can't throw deep, to the sideline, or in tight windows can be the top QB on the depth chart. And again, Kyle has no say in the matter. Purdy must be some kind hypnotist or cult leader and the team is under his spell.

I don't think there is a conspiracy, but realize last year our chart was ordered Lance, JG, Brock, which by final measure, was fully upside down. So that stuff happens, not to take this dudes side, but just the side of what I see to be reality. Sometimes the chart is based on other stuff. In 2022, we set the chart based on our 2021 draft decision. Now, we are setting the chart based on what BP did in 2022. He earned it with his prior year performance. BP and Sam were not in a job comp. BP got healthy and is the guy.

Ah exactly. You made it seem like Kyle doesn't want him. He's basically saying that team is fully behind him as well. Try harder bro.

2022 is irrelevant. The idea was to have Lance learn on the job, and injuries took him out week 2. Purdy came out of nowhere after Jimmy went on IR. Of course things can change. I'm not arguing that Brock is greatest ever and that Darnold sucks. I am not myopic and don't attach myself to players. I always support the team and who is the guy under center. I was a fan of Lance, a fan of Jimmy, and now a fan Brock, as well a fan of Darnold. I want every 49er QB to be a superstar. And when they aren't, then next man up. This I gotta pick my guy and argue in his favor b******t has gone on too f**king long on this forum. If you're a fan of rational discourse, we need to squash the fanboy s**t as it comes up.

Yeah, it's really funny because the article he posted talked about how special Brock is in everyone's eyes, yet he calls Brock average. Like he posts an out of context quote from Young as though it's some evidence of a conspiracy to suppress Darnold by neither of the guys running the team. Very strange stuff.

My guess is it's a Lance Stan who is upset and using Darnold as the cover to attack Purdy.

Weird stuff. Is this guy actually arguing that Darnold should be starting over Purdy or that he's better? I don't get it with some people man, it's like all of Darnolds past and 50+ games got excused and doesn't exist once he signed here or something 😂 Get over it. The team (BOTH coaches and players) chose Purdy and rightfully so, Sam will only play if he gets injured, not because he's better

What are you on about? I did watch. Most of Purdy's throws are dinks and dunks and intermediates to wide open receivers. How many throws were deep and outside the numbers, or intermediate ones in tight windows? Have you seen his nextgen stats in the Dallas game? Half of his completions were under 5 yards.

If you had watched Darnold's videos, you would clearly see who made the better and more difficult throws last year. Darnold can make all of the throws Purdy made last year. Can Purdy make Darnold's throws? No one knows because he hasn't made them in a game yet in the NFL or college.

Lol you're the one who's trying to form some stupid ass conspiracy. Everyone else thinks your full of s**t too, maybe it's you and not everyone?
