lol, you got nothing

Video evidence is BS? Darnold's highlighted 2022 throws were much more difficult than Purdy's last year.

Hey Sam, shouldn't you be watching film and practicing instead of arguing on a message board and posting your highlights. That's not what that Ipad that they gave you is for.

Purdy made every throw you provided and were against better defenses and must win games. like i said, you got nothing. no need to lie

Show me one time Purdy, Jimmy or even Alex Smith made a deep out like Darnold did here at the 2:00 mark

A guy who has 7 career starts, a guy struggled to throw deep, and a guy who refused to throw deep.

Quite the bar you are holding Darnold to there. LOL.

Well, Purdy never made that throw in college too. Darnold did make deep out throws at USC in his second year of playing full time QB.

Compare Darnold's 2022 highlights to Purdy's 2022 highlights. There is a clear difference in throwing ability between the two. You have to be delusional to think otherwise.

If Darnold can keep up his play like he did last year, the 49ers will be a much better team with him because he would unlock deep outs, posts and go routes for the team.

Arm strength?

There is a lot more to being a good QB than arm strength. See: Jim Drukenmiller

I've never seen a more delusional Sam Darnold fan. WOW.

Darnold's arm talent isn't the issue. He doesn't feel the rush. He's just guessing at when it's getting there and panicks when he thinks time is out, whether it really is or isn't. Other times, he has no idea the rush has arrived and gets walloped, which is a big part of his astronomical turnover numbers.

Panicked throws or holding it too long = INTs and FUMBLES. That's Darnold. Athletic/arm talent, but just not NFL caliber game-sense. Outside of that, the decision making has been a problem since college. The "WTF" moments have never ceased. His propensity for inexplicable throws that you simply can't find even a sliver of justification for is pretty horrific.

Sam Darnold doesn't just make an honest mistake here or there, his turnovers are often downright LAUGHABLE. He will need to cut down on the WTF moments a lot to have his career turn around from here. Maybe he can, but I'm not holding my breath.

You do know that Darnold like Lance didn't play QB much in high school right? He had one year of full time QB play his senior year. He also only had 2 years at USC.

It's quite incredible that many here won't fault Lance for his inexperience but would for Darnold. He's only a few years older than Purdy for goodness sakes and probably has the same number of QB reps in games. Brock has 8 years of QB play while Darnold has 8 as well, 5 of those being in the punishing NFL.

OK, guys. Definitely a spoof account. I wasn't 100% sure but now I am. Moving on.

Are you seriously comparing those throws to Darnold's deep out at the 2:00 mark above? That's quite pushing it. CMC had to wait for the ball because Purdy underthrew that pass. That was also just a 30 yard pass. Kittle was wide open on that deep ball.

Yes, and if you have a high ypa, CPOE, low INT % with arm strength, you're at Mahomes level. Darnold has that potential if he can continue playing like he did last year.
Never really watched Sam Darnold much but he looks pretty decent. It, to me looks like he both throws and runs better than Trey. I think the team made the right decision.

Darnold's wikipedia:

"On the football team, Darnold played wide receiver and linebacker, though he played quarterback as a sophomore after the starting quarterback was injured in a game against Tesoro High School. He threw a touchdown pass and scored the game-winning two-point conversion, but returned to playing receiver and linebacker a week later.[2] When he legitimately became the school's quarterback, Darnold broke the school record for the most touchdown passes in a game when he threw five on two occasions.[4] He missed much of his junior year with a foot injury.[2] In his senior year, San Clemente reached the CIF-Southern Section Southwest Division championship game, where they lost 37–44 to Trabuco Hills High School in a comeback upset after Sam was knocked out of the game with a concussion.[5] He ended his senior season with 3,000 passing yards and 39 touchdowns, along with 800 rushing yards and 13 rushing touchdowns.[4]"

"Darnold was rated by Rivals.com as a four-star recruit and was ranked as the eighth best dual-threat quarterback in his class and 179th best player overall.[6] However, he did not have much footage of him performing at recruiting camps, preferring to show his play in games. As a result, San Clemente head football coach Jaime Ortiz elected to provide video of his basketball career to football coaches.[2]"

One underrated aspect is his running. He was a receiver in high school (and a linebacker so he is used to hits). That's another positive he has over the other QBs we've had.

Purdy has the one thing that Sam can't improve. It's in between his ears… Sam Iam the turnover machine is lucky Kyle was stupid enough to sign him.
