I mean.....I am saying Darnold sucks. That is what he has demonstrated during his NFL career.
Now, he is in a great position and I think he could resurrect his career here. But until that happens, all we can do is base our judgement on what he has shown thus far.....which is s**t quarterbacking.
I hate to repeat this, but he was a top QB in all of the advanced metrics last year (EPA, CPOE, ypa, yac, INT%). He is by far the best backup in the league and Kyle knows he has a QB who can make all the throws if teams figure his QB1 out.
I agree with this and I am glad that he is our #2. Kyle didn't believe in Trey that is why he is gone
Lol. Kyle's QB evaluation skills should never, ever be brought into a discussion about who is the better QB. SAM sucks, he will never be the guy. He hit his ceiling before coming here. There is no miraculous improvement coming, Trey is better now and will continue to get better. We screwed up letting him walk. He needed patience and Kyle has none so here we go. The qb drama will continue as long as he is our coach. Injuries, poor player development and most of all poor talent evaluation. I keep saying it and will keep saying it. Purdy fell into his lap. He was forced to play him and the kid did his thing. Nothing about Purdy being good is attributable to Kyle. Purdy's injury though is.. poor blocking scheme with the wrong personnel. Some will say.. no that injury is just football.. the stats don't lie folks. We have suffered more from injuries with him as the coach than any other hc in our history. There come a point where you have to say.. luck has nothing to do with it. But I digress. Sam iam garbage.
Damn, that's a lot of negativity for a coach that has been to 3 NFC championship games and. Superbowl.
Being the Sam Thread, I really hope you are wrong. He has been a starter before and potentially in the wrong system, a bad fit for where he was?
He can obviously make the throws, I'm hoping some good coaching and a change of scenery will bring out his true potential.
I'm obviously hoping he isn't called into action but I am confident that in this scheme with this system he could have some success.
