Made me appreciate the way Purdy handled himself and handled his business, from the very first second he was thrown into battle, that much more. Darnold looked uncomfortable, unprepared and out of his element. He actually looked relieved when Brock came back in.

In other words,...he looked like Darnold.

I think that's a little bit unfair to judge Darnold on two missed throws. The guy came for 30 seconds. I mean, Purdy IIRC was 1/3 before his TD to Juice against the Dolphins. Being a back up and coming into the game like that is not easy. So I will wait before saying anything on Sam. And honestly, he was fine when he finished the game with the back ups.
Now, having said that, I always was really surprised by this "admiration" of Darnold by Kyle Shanahan.
When you know what Shanahan likes in a QB, Sam Darnold is a curious idea.
And yes Sam, maybe don't throw at 200mph the next time.^^

He was just nervous (who wouldn't be subbing for BP?) and had too much heat on the balls. Would have adjusted some but honestly, glad we didn't have to wait around for it.
Only game I want to see Darnold play meaningful snaps in is in the Rams game after we have locked up the #1 seed.

Yea but almost want to keep Rams outta the playoffs though

This.

Obviously want Brock Purdy to stay healthy and never have to test this theory, but I have confidence Shanahan could make it work with Darnold. It would just look different. He wouldn't have Purdy's anticipation, processing ability, or accuracy. But he has a good arm and can make all the throws... he's athletic and can make some plays with his legs. If he can avoid bad turnovers, the playcalling/playmakers could carry him.
I almost thought darnold was gonna have to win the superbowl for us
