I'm calling bs on this. If it did happen then Kyle was obviously on crack during that interview.

I don't know if Kyle ever said that but I know Matt Maiocco did. He was referring to physical traits like arm strength and running ability. I don't think he ever said Darnold was a better QB.

This argument is at the surface of the game manager label. It's possible to have great physical tools and not be a good QB. It's also possible to have slightly better than average physical tools and be a great QB. We've seen this over and over in the NFL. People get too hung up on labels. I prefer to watch guys play and see the result.

I was just gonna post that, I remember Maiocco saying that too.
Excited to see his progression!

Okay, that I can believe, about the physical traits. 'In terms of all around play', lol no way did Kyle, or anyone, would say that.

These were his words; "I don't think that's a big controversial statement, Sam is an unbelievable thrower,"

Better than Purdy, hell no. Darnold's accuracy couldn't touch Purdy's. Not to mention Purdy is an elite processor to Darnold, he makes Darnold look like an Apple 2E.

When someone says one guy is a better thrower is he talking about accuracy or velocity and arm strength. It's often 2 different things. Mahomes has both. Allen has the strength but not as much accuracy. Purdy has the accuracy and not as much strength and velocity as either of them. Personally I would love to have a guy that has all the traits. Physical and mental but that isn't usually the case. I'll take accuracy over arm strength if I can have just one. I'm not saying Brock has a weak arm but it's not in the category of Mahomes, Allen and some others. The important thing is he makes up for that by throwing accurately and on time. His ball placement this season has been fantastic and allows the receivers to pick up extra yards when they don't need to wait for the ball or reach up to make the catch.

I'm a USC fan, so I know what Sam is capable of - expecting a great game from him.
Let him cook today. Nothing to lose
I'm more confident in him as our back-up than any other back-up I can recall maybe except for Steve Young & Steve Bobo years and years ago.

curious how he looks today with a week or prep and a whole game to get comfortable. he will probably have a good game since the rams are resting some good guys. we will see - he def has an incredible arm and can make some special throws. hope he doesn't throw any picks.

It'll be funny if he balls and then the brock narrative is that "anyone can do it in this system" lmao.

KS never said that.
Sam can earn $300K of his $1.8M LTBEs, he's earned $0, so far the 49ers will get back $1.5M, if the 49ers win today, he'll earn the $300K. I honestly don't care about the result of the game, just as long as we come out healthy.
