Solomon Thomas at 3 anyone.

He didn't free fall at all. Most grades thought the Chiefs reached big. Obviously people completely missed on the evaluation for many teams.

I believe QB is the hardest position to evaluate.

I personally think that evaluation is overrated.. why not just trust what you see all year long in college?

here, for example, this is how I view the upcoming QBs and how I have them on my order list..

CALEB WILLIAMS - U need to draft 1st because even if he busts, there was more reason to draft him that NOT to draft him. (FIRST ROUND)

MICHAEL PENIX - He may not be ready in year one, but by year 3, he'll show some greatness.. (MID 1ST)

JJ McCARTHY - Don't expect him to be a savior, but he will be THAT in the future.. his football IQ reminds me of Rivers or Brees (LATE 1ST)

DRAKE MAYE - he's not spectacular game in and game out, he can get that job done... Eli is who this kid reminds me of (EARLY 2ND)

BO NIX - He's a game manager who happens to be very athletic.. I would not be surprise if the Rams take this kid to be their future (2nd ROUND)

JAYDEN DANIELS - he heads the top of my list of the MOST OVERRATED PLAYER in this draft.. NOT sure why all that HOOPLA..

SPENCER RATTLER - had Purdy NOT became what he is thus far, I see Shanny drafting Rattler late 2nd

JOE MILTON III - low football IQ is what drops him... I expect those Knee Biting Lions to move up early 3rd and draft this kid

JORDAN TRAVIS OR TUA II - It'll be nice to draft one of this guys late 5th and be our 3rd stringer..

Historically about 1 to 3 of the above listed will be starters in 5-7 years.

I submit you are being way over optimistic and hence why so many teams strike out.

Then proceeds to hate on the guy who had the best season and won the Heisman.

I don't hate him, i just don't think he's all that.. i did not think Crouch, Jason White, and Manziel would be an NFL QB...

.. not that.. .I just DON'T believe that every spectacular QB coming out can carry a WEAK team... then there are QBs that just aren't ready... Wilson of the Jets was thrown in to the wolves.. and I'm not talking about the team, I'm talking about the City of New York..

I always felt that Bryce Young was the second coming of Arizona's very own DOPEY who is nothing more than a backyard football QB..

Hindsight drafting is cringe.

It seems a lot of posts that I cringe at lately, I look up and see RonnieLott. It's unfortunate, because Ronnie Lott was such a good player and deserves better. Like when I read a post from JoseCortez, I'm like, yeah that makes sense.

MAHOMES could have been w/any other teams.. the fact is SHANNY gave him a very good grade coming out, then went for CJ...

ANDY at least did what he had to do to get a chance to coach the guy... had Mahomes been a bust, at least Andy believe in what he saw..

This argument has been beaten to death over and over again. Trubisky was the consensus top QB, with Watson as the only other guy that was considered worthy of our high draft pick. Mahomes wasn't in that upper echelon, mostly considered a mid first round talent, and even if he was the top QB in the draft, there's no guarantee a guy is going to translate into the NFL.

The Niners had a plan. It was to sign Cousins after the year. I think that plan could very well have net us a SB considering how close Jimmy came with the same squad. Kirk has proved to be a damn fine QB and would have likely won here if Jimmy didn't throw a wrench in those plans by playing damn good ball in his brief post-trade 2017 here.

Again though, it's all hindsight.

What our brass did to trade up for Lance was the type of bold gamble that likely was a result of watching a guy like Mahomes tear the league up. Again, no guy is a guarantee as we've seen. The only thing we can do is give them credit for guys on this roster, and to land Purdy, even though we passed on him through 6 rounds, is a testament to giving your team options and adjusting your plan as new evidence is available. So we didn't get Mahomes, boo f**king hoo. We're in the SB competing for a chip. That's all that matters.

I'll repeat.. lol,
been there done that, in terms of the draft trade up, and Darnold beat that guy out

I'll repeat: You don't highlight one incident, or a couple, and ignore years of draft history. Signing guys like Darnold… keeping guys like Fields… is just kicking the can down the road on the most impactful position in the game.

Also, you aren't the Broncos. Lots of reports indicating they are interested in moving up.
