QB Sam Darnold is a Viking

Good for him. Looks like he is back in a starting role. What's more, he gets to throw to JJ and Addison with a former QB as HC, and they have Hockenson plus now Aaron Jones. Good setup. Maybe he pulls a Baker and becomes the guy.

Vikings look like they are out of the playoffs and the season hasn't even started.

Sam is pretty darn athletic, throws a great ball. Brissett's skill is he protects the football. He's not the athlete or thrower Sam is. I think Minny got a good QB at no real cost. $10m is around what Lance was making on a rook deal.

At no point Darnold was good in his career. 10 millions for him seriously? Imagine if John and Kyle had made that deal.^^
Again, you can talk about Darnold's age or potential but the guy is gonna be 27 and didn't show any improvement during his career seemingly. And you can talk about Lance all you want, the reality is that they didn't make any effort to re-sign Darnold just like they traded Lance at the first opportunity.
Also, let's be honest here, when Darnold signed with us, what was he thinking? He was thinking that he was gonna beat Lance in training camp and that since we didn't know when Purdy would come back, he would be the starter. And then maybe he would have just kept the job. The reality is that, Purdy beat Darnold in training camp without any offseason training and coming back from a massive elbow surgery. Oh and he was a 23 years old second year player.
Darnold is not a starter in this league I'm sorry and watch the Vikings draft someone. The Steelers did the same thing with Trubisky.
