That all had 2022 NFL passer ratings lower than Sam Darnold.
Seriously.
What was the sample size?
How many games did Darnold play vs the guys you listed?
don't put any qualifiers on this let's just accept it as fact.. move on

Wow I just saw this news right here on the zone, hadn't checked the site for about 6 or 7 hours. I'm not mad, pretty good insurance/insulation for the QB room TBH. I think Darnold's skillset fits well for the system.

He had 140 pass attempts last season I believe.
Not a bad signing all things considering.

I saw his record in his 6 games was 4-2. Not sure what happened and why he was pulled as the starter. Anyone know the story?
Baker Mayfield beat him out for the starting job going into the season, and Darnold was hurt in the last preseason game and started the season on injured reserve.
His six starts finished out the season for the Panthers, who had cycled through Mayfield and PJ Walker as starters in the prior games.

wooo hoooo!!
GREAT advice from his agent too !! The agent know that Sammy has a chance to start here if Baby Face struggles and/or B-Rock isn't healthy enough or just ends waking up that last season was a DREAM !!!
GREAT SIGNING !!!
Darnold is very smart to come to sign with the 49ers. He probably could have gotten more years and more
money elsewhere but he knows if he gets a chance to
Play here, he is in the best possible situation to thrive and potentially get a lot more money next season and
quite possibly become a full-time NFL starting QB again.....
EXACTLY why I said his agent too did a very outstanding job to convince Darnold that he'll be in a very good situation here because both Trey and B-Rocks are still unproven.. at the very least, he'll finally have a contender as a team or he'll just be a 3rd stringer all year long.. at the very best, Trey can choke and show why 1 year in NCAA should never be enough while B-Rocks eldow just makes his arm weaker than what it already is..

The Jets have the poorest organization in drafting and mentoring young QBs. Maybe Sam is smart and wants to learn to be an NFL QB under Shanahan.

He's gonna flourish under Shanahan. KS wanted him for 2 years. Can be QB1

He helped whip the Seahawks ass last year when they ran the F over them to the tune of 330 yards. Even if he didn't do Jack s**t I still have to give him credit bc I hate the Seahawks. That is all.

Darnold was playing well under Wilks, now our DC. It's all about adapting to what he does well...not forcing him to do things he doesn't. Shanahan's wanted to take a shot at Sam, now he'll have his opportunity to see what he can do. Sure, ShanaLynch could've signed an older vet, but I kind of like this move. BL is it's a 1-yr prove it deal. I wish Darnold the best.

This was my guy during his draft year. Thought he was the best qb that year I was wrong though. Allen and Jackson turned out to be the dudes but I still think he has talent.
Welcome aboard my dude. Heres your clipboard. Study hard and stay ready.

I dont see how anyone can hate this. Darnold would be a good #2 guy that you would hope to be able to revive his career.
and he's our #3 guy!!!!

People hate it because there's a chance he ends up being the best QB on the roster. If Trey doesn't take a massive leap forward and Brock isn't the same after surgery, this guy could be QB1.
