QB Sam Darnold is a Viking

It's also another one of those Kyle moves that's telling us how he feels about Trey. If they truly felt like Trey was their guy, I could see us signing a guy like Keenum or Stidham.

Bringing in a guy that everybody outside of this fan base would rank ahead of Trey really makes no sense if they see Trey as QB1 and Brock as QB2

I dont see how anyone can hate this. Darnold would be a good #2 guy that you would hope to be able to revive his career.

and he's our #3 guy!!!!

People hate it because there's a chance he ends up being the best QB on the roster. If Trey doesn't take a massive leap forward and Brock isn't the same after surgery, this guy could be QB1.

Who exactly is hating on this?

we wouldnt have made the playoffs last year without jimmy. thats a fact.

this guy still young enough to try and prove the world wrong. the qb room not gonna work

How is that a fact lol? We went undefeated with Purdy. You have no clue what would've happened if Purdy started instead of Jimmy. So it's an opinion, not a fact.

+You totally miss the point. If purdy started week 1, he'd be injured by week 8. Hence our need for jimmy g to come off the bench and perform like a PROFESSIONAL qb not a SCRUB and go 6-2 to bring us to the promised land. That is why we needed jimmy g last year.

This year he gone. and we got the guy who has mastered his post-interception mannerisms.

Ah so more opinions and no facts. Time to brush off that dictionary and look up the definition to that word.
I see it didn't take long for all the Jimmy stans to become Sam stans so they can keep the anti Trey narrative going. Just give the kid a chance and let him play. We might be pleasently suprised.

If he earns his opportunity I will be happy to give it to him. We can't just hand out opportunities on a team that's fighting for a SB

EXACTLY why I said his agent too did a very outstanding job to convince Darnold that he'll be in a very good situation here because both Trey and B-Rocks are still unproven.. at the very least, he'll finally have a contender as a team or he'll just be a 3rd stringer all year long.. at the very best, Trey can choke and show why 1 year in NCAA should never be enough while B-Rocks eldow just makes his arm weaker than what it already is..

See, that's a problem right there. We don't need another guy in the qb room figting for starting role. that bad. we need an older vet helping our starter along, who is brock purdy. We don't need a back up jumping in trying to make splash plays because its darnold against the world, creating a qb controversy. we need caretaker to game manage the situation if someone is hurt for a few games and be a professional. Sometimes you want doggie dog, sometimes you don't. Trey still in learning mode.

Hahahajajajajajajjajajajahahhahahahahaha is this Sam Darnold's WZ account?

Do you remember Steve Young when he came into the league? He didn't instill much confidence in the Bucs...Lets just see what happens... Hell i remember so many people here back in 2018 when Jimmy G got hurt and Nick Mullins ripped the Raiders how everyone here want Mullins to be the starter.... How did that turn out? I know its the opposite effect but still I'm going to give Darnold the benefit of the doubt until he proves me wrong...he's played on a LOUSY Jets team and a pretty lousy Panthers team...

I mean seriously How many people here thought Before Jimmy got hurt That Brock Purdy was going to come in here and go 7-0...and bring the team to the Championship...

Oh this is gonna be fun from now til camp. Bunch of people saying Sam's gonna beat out Trey. Gotta love it

Darnold isn't gonna beat out Trey because Darnold won't get a chance to.

By which you're implying that he's better than Trey.

all these ppl who cares.. I do not care who is starting QB I don't have a side, I want the best guy for the job to help this team get it over the line and win ballgames.

That simple folks. Tired of the you like this guy games ppl play on here. Whoever the best guy is; KS will figure it out, he wants to win a SB, period.

Exactly... All that Matters is The QB playing win the games needed to win...Doesn't matter if its Purdy or Lance OR Darnold.... I'm backing the team as a whole I did the same when Alex Smith was the QB.

Yep. Time to put a new poster up in the bedroom, Cousins getting old. Was at the Colts Jets game in 2020. He threw 2 pick sixes. Terrible decisions. Cohn is gonna have a field day 😆😆😆😆😆😆

Everyone is talking that Darnold is the 3rd string QB.... So What happens if he outplays Lance in Training camp???What if Purdy ISN'T ready to go week 1... rmember the Average time is 6 months That isn't a Guarantee...

You want to talk about Darnold beating out Lance but what if we bring back Josh Johnson and he beats out Darnold?

Then Josh Johnson should start... I'm just saying why bench someone when they outperform Hell if CJ Bethard came back and beat out the rest of the QBs he should start. Whoever has the best chance at winning needs to be starting. And I threw that out there because it IS Possible that Darnold Does beat out Lance did I say Darnold WILL Beat out Lance ???? NO I Said what IF Darnold beats out Lance.... BIG Difference. Hell we REALLY don't even KNOW what we have in Lance yet... he's only played College and NFL what 20 games total?????

Damn you must hate trey lance if you think that.

I would argue the 49ers don't really know Brocks recovery timeline and given the recent history of injured QBs it's best to get a halfway decent backup.

but here we are acting like Darnold is #1 if Brock isn't ready.

Zero percent chance Kyle ranks Darnold above Trey.
Darnold is mediocre. Lance has superstar potential.

The details on the contract will be telling. Brock's timeline has been set. If Trey were viewed as QB1, I thought we'd go with a Mason Rudolph type to be backup until our actual backup (Purdy in this situation) is healthy. Picking up Darnold, a guy that could definitely stir things up with Trey doesn't make sense to me

This is all based on draft hype. Darnold got a lot of that too. Means nothing
