Yeah, Oliver is a stud in run support, but still a liability in coverage. I think most expected that to be the case.
I was reading one writer's take that Oliver does well in the slot against bigger slot WR's, because he's a little bigger, but struggles against shiftier slot WR's. So pretty matchup dependent.

DID we sign him to support the run though? I mean he's a DB, we would rather have a DB that can cover than be a STUD supporting the run..
You're right that run support isn't the main thing we should get in a defensive back, but for a nickelback, there is some importance to be able to stop the run. Teams often like to trot out three WR's to get teams to swap out the linebacker for a slot CB that's typically a smaller 185 defensive back... and then run at them. K'Waun Williams was well regarded because he tackled well in run support, and while he didn't win every pass matchup, would usually be able to limit YAC.
