I mean we all see it, we got destroyed in the slot vs the Rams, chase in the slot killed him, Addison had a field day.

I don't know what the answer is there. Lenior would be good there BUT that means you gotta play Thomas outside
Desmond King is out there. He can't be any worse. Casey Hayward still want to play lol?

My god, if Shanahan brings even one of them in, that would alleviate so much problems in the secondary actually the main problem. lol

Holy smokes there's actually some good CB's on the market that I'd definitely start over Oliver.

Byron Jones
PJ Williams
Greedy Williams
Bryce Callahan
Kyle Fuller
Logan Ryan
William Jackson (not sure how healthy he is)

Please make a move and get one.

Not according to Steve Smith, who dedicated an entire segment to pointing out how the Niners' most glaring weakness is…Isaiah Oliver.

A casual football fan can watch a game and say #26 is garbage, he's a massive part of the problem along with Wilks. This group of players all of a sudden isn't going to forget to play d and stop the run all of a sudden

Are you implying Pro Bowl receiver Steve Smith is a casual fan? My take on the defense is that:

A. Our secondary gives up anything underneath in the 3-8 yard range without contesting off the line ie. 1st half of the Rams game when Stafford shredded our defense with completion after completion to Nucua and Atwell. This is also how I feel we lost against them in the NFCC with Ryans leaving Ambry Thomas and K'Waun in soft coverage against Kupp and Beckham.
B. Our pass rush either doesn't get a push so they are highly susceptible to leaving gaps for rushers which the linebackers or safeties have to clean up 10 yards downfield ie. The last three games where we have been getting gashed for a lot of runs
C. They blitz but don't get to the QB, which usually results in 20-40 yard back breaking plays, 1st downs or TD's.

Hopefully we bring some of them in, since we couldn't pull of a trade. Why are these guys unsigned this late into the season? Are they all older players? Salary cuts?

I'm not calling Smith a casual fan, I'm saying in general a casual fan can turn on a 9ers game and ask who's 26? He can't cover for s**t

Oliver is horrific but if corners and olinemen are still unsigned at this point 2 positions that every team looks for they're either cooked or want way too much money for what they're worth
Jason Verrett? I mean Oliver makes Dontee Johnson look descent

Teams can't make trades with each other until March 1, 2024. The only way they can add a CB is if he's a free agent and there are a lot of teams in front of the Niners when it comes to adding free agents. This is the team for the rest of the year.

Guys sitting out there without a team are there for a reason. NFL scouts aren't going to miss out on a chance to add a quality DB. Maybe they just can't play. I went back and looked at the first couple of pages when they signed Oliver. Most thought it was a great signing and were happy. Now everyone hates him. I guess the fans can be wrong too.
