I wonder if Oliver could learn S in the upcoming weeks. He doesn't seem to be quick enough for corner, but plays well downhill. With Womack on the outside looking in, and Huf out, maybe we try to move Oliver to backup the safety spot in case of another injury.

Absolutely should. Play him at SS.

Posted this is the other thread, but there's no reason he can't play safety. He's done it before. Oliver took some snaps at safety with Atlanta last year and also was recruited as a three star safety out of highschool.

There you go!

Now Lynch confirming this is on the table too. I'd prefer to see this honestly. His skill set just seems like a better fit for SS and special teams. Blitzing, very little man coverage on receivers, run support.

That'd be a good move for the rest of this season. He is outmatched in the slot and with the recent loss of two safeties, he would fill a need at safety depth. There's no guarantee putting him in more open space is a good thing though. To play safety in this scheme, can't be exclusively a box safety.

Biggest game of the year, rely on a player that has struggled much of his time on the field to cover a primary receiving threat. That's a bold strategy.

He was solid against Waller. Against tall TEs without speed he does well. I would put him on guys like Andrews if we get there.

He gets washed and left with quicker TE and WR. I think he matches better with physical players vs the speedsters.

Oliver was getting lots of praise vs Dallas. I watched that replay last night and was hoping he might contribute today but he's been hot and cold, when he's cold, it's REAL cold.

Hopefully we see the best of all our DBs today.
