Sucks as a starter? Or sucks for the depth and versatility he was signed for?

One of the better signings in my opinion. We need someone that can play minutes at tackle today. While there's prospects in the draft, there's not a lot of true tackles that are in our draft range and that I think are better tackles today then Mckivitz, Burford, Moore. Have to move up for Freeland. Likely have to move up for Bergeron and I think he's moved to guard at first. Saldivieri likely moving to IOL as well. Maybe developed into OT, but we need minutes today. RT of course, but wouldn't be shocked to see Trent miss a few as well. At minimum this takes pressure off to move up for o line. I'd still be inclined to look at o line in the 3rd, but time to start looking at 5th round prospects for development and depth.
For sure. Now we've replaced Daniel Brunskill and basically, Colton McKivitz (swing T). We still want to bring in a real challenger to Colton McKivitz esp. because we know OL drop like flies around here.

Right. Id still want then to target a tackle with one of the first 3 picks. Competition, depth, someone that can start if necessary, etc.
No doubt. But it does sound like we might need to trade up if we're looking for a legit starter and not developmental hope for next year.
I wouldn't trade up with any of our thirds. There will be some good talent there at so many different positions and I'd like the best shot at all of them. Based off of our drafting history, multiple day 2 and 3 picks favor us. John and Kyle can pull off their own 1986 draft.

Also they mostly haven't done great while trading up, outside of a couple of players.

Only if a few of their guys fall. We also have 5 comp picks next year we could use. Lots of options if they believe a real talent is there. LT might also be our top pick next draft too.

Sounds like a good depth signing. It'll be interesting to see what they do at RT. Right now, it seems like the plan is to just have a lot of competition at that spot and hope someone rises to the occasion. No reason to worry though, I'm sure when all is said and done we'll have another Top 5 or 10 O-line just like last year (and there were even more question marks last year).

49ers OL is like the LA Dodgers. Really solid, even top 10 unit in-season and big flop of disappointment in the post season.
But to your point, definitely a lot less worry this year but is it good enough? Almost there. Don't stop now.

How about, just SUCKS. There are ways that 'sucks' is less sucky?

Can we get his back right? He had a pretty goodvseason in 2021. Graded 70, 5.5m contract.

He sucks as a LT and the video I posted pretty much states that.

Dems the facts. Of course when you have to play the two best pass rushing defenses back to back, the metrics won't look pretty. Esp. when playing with one armed tied behind their back in a predictable situation.
