The NFC in the early to mid-90's (with the 49ers, Cowboys, Packers, etc.) was one such period only ended by the Broncos in 97.
It was actually from the mid 80's through the late 90's. The AFC went 15 years between SB's from the Raiders winning it in 84 to the Broncos winning it in 98. For several years the NFC championship game was the SB.
