Why the f**k did they onside kick

That was pretty dumb.

Even if the Sainst keep them from scoring a TD, a probable FG seals the game

Not even remotely,I'm amazed at how concerned some are about the Rams.

Because the Rams are a divisional opponent, and divisional games are the toughest. Also theyve been playing better the last few weeks. 49ers should win of course, but then again theres that saying "Any given Sunday" and thats why you want to go with the path with the least resistance.

We beat them up bad in the regular season a couple years ago. Met them in the NFCC game at Levi's south, thinking we had it in the bag. Guess what happened ?

We own McVay and the Rams in the regular season. The playoffs are another beast. History shows one coach with a SB ring vs another who choked one away.
I'm well aware of what happened and that would be relevant if these were the exact same teams playing but they aren't.

Yeah it was dumb. Yes they had no timeouts but if they have them go 3 and out they would still get the ball back with around 2 minutes left and with perhaps good field position.

Kick a squib, hope to pin them within the 25 yd line and limit the kind of plays Rams can run….instead Rams can immediately be aggressive to get only a few yds to get in FG range and put the game away (or 1st downs to ice it). Dumbass decision reflective of having a trash D.

You seem to really, really like the Rams. And you're the same dude who refuses to admit Purdy might be a franchise QB after 20+ good games.

You sure you're a 49ers fan?

We are 10 times better now and the Rams are worse. We didn't have CMC and we had Jimmy instead of Brock. And not even a healthy Jimmy. We also had Tarrt that can't catch. And we had Trent who was not even 50% health wise in that game.

If we play the Cowboys in the playoffs, the Cowboys players will probably be mentally planning their offseason vacations in the lead up to the game. I think the Rams would be a lot more confident in their ability to beat us, especially if they beat us in week 18 and deny us the #1 seed.
49ers have won 9 out of the last 10 vs the Rams why exactly would they be confident?

They won the one that actually mattered.
I'm sure that'll instill them with confidence, but unfortunately for them Garoppolo & Tart aren't around anymore.

75% of that 2021 Rams team is GONE.

Sorry, but you're sounding like a child right now. We can praise other teams and players without it impacting our 49er fandom. Stop being a whiner, man.

This Rams defense is not even keeping this Niners offense to 17-20 points like they did in that SB year. Rams will have to score atleast 38 to beat us.
Kyren Williams has transformed that offense because now they can run well, Puka Nacua is a freaking stud and Stafford is always good.

However their defense is awful outside Donald. If we have to face them in a playoff game we can limit their offense to 24 points and we can score at will on their defense.

I don't disagree. I just think they're a tougher matchup for us than the Cowboys and maybe any other team in the NFC.
