Giant's were the first team that did that on the regular that I know of...and they must have been called for it 5 times in the late 80s during the playoffs.

It use to be you could not bend the los, and then they moved it to a half yard offset ....not sure what it is at now...but clearly it is not being called.

They don't want to call it for the same reason they aren't calling the false starts and most OL holding on pass plays: the DL talent across the league is so far ahead of the OL talent that they need to allow them to cheat to get the offensive basketball on grass that brings in the $$$.

My argument is - just change the rules officially so we don't have a mockery of the written rules being ignored and then arbitrarily called by refs. Gives refs too much power to pick and choose when to influence the game if they don't call it until they just feel like it.
