I'm just saying I always root for the AFC over the NFC in regular season games unless there's some extenuating circumstances (always related to 49ers playoff chances and seeding). I only allow myself to root for teams I like versus teams I hate when it's unrelated to the 49ers. But I guess I'm weird.

Yes. They are the new Patriots - unless they are playing our division opponents I want them to lose.
Also, I don't see the Lions threatening the 49ers for playiff seeding, TBH. That only happens if SF underperforms this season, IMO, and that would likely mean the Eagles have the #1 seed locked up anyway in that scenario.
