It would more than likely mean Purdy + Deebo + Warner or whoever to fit that QB under our cap, unless that QB was still on their rookie contract as well (Burrow/Lawrence). So it's hard to say at this point. If Purdy remains playing like a top 5 QB this year, then you could argue he's more valuable at his contract level than any QB in the league.

Was thinking about this, really extends our window a few years if he turns out to be the real deal. Still surprised how many people would have Purdy over Allen and other qbs. He looked good but I don't remember many plays where I was "wowed" by him. Looked more like a game manager with an average arm and good pocket presence

Josh Allen?

Not on my list. I'm a luke warm Josh fan. He does good in Buffalo in what they ask him to do. Im not sure he'd be good at what he'd be asked to do here. JMHO

2 wow plays off the top of my head. The scramble where he found Kittle in the back of the end zone with a perfect pass in LV and the scramble in the playoffs against Seattle where he found Aiyuk in the corner right side of the end zone but Aiyuk dropped it. A game manager to me is Alex Smith

Another would be the juking a rusher vs Tampa and throwing a dart to Deebo with the announcer openly like WOW on the broadcast
Brock or bust

He has a lot more WOW in his arm and legs than a game manager. He's a much better athlete than Jimmy G or Alex Smith if you watch the games. He does make some wow throws. He's sneaky quick in a 10 - 15 yard box area. He can scramble to buy time to throw. Or even run for a first down or TD. We have seen him do that. He presents as much better than a game manager IMO. That's an insult to Brock. He's better than that.

That's the pocket presence which is refreshing to see, he's flashed improvisation wouldn't say "clutch" just yet. I'd like to see more arm talent from him he was good but not great.

We've seen countless qbs looking like the next best thing then nfl catches up with them. Brock Oswieler, Sam Bradford, Vince Young, Kapernick, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Kyler Murray, might even throw Newton in there.

I'm excited for Brock and feel he might be it but we've seen countless flash in the pan players. Let me put it this way I'm not convinced Brock can turn a franchise around with how good he is

That was one of the most random smattering of QBs I've ever seen. You have a #1 overall pick NFL MVP in there with Brock Osweiler. On BP there is no requirement to turn the franchise around, we are already pretty loaded. Just ball out quick, distribute to our playmakers, avoid negative plays, he'll do great out there.
Mahomes
Allen
Hurts
T. Lawrence
Burrow
Herbert

That's the list IMO

The guy who may be atop my list isn't even on yours. Lamar Jackson. Would be interested, how a KS run game looks, with him alongside CMC. You do have Hurts tho, which I like to see

Lawrence looks like the real deal, and he has some receivers to work with also. Jags could be a real squad here.
Fields is electric. But his passing has been sub par

Thats what I'm saying, he's only played half a season with arguably the best offense in the nfl outside of himself
The list goes on and on of qbs that looked promising but was just a flash in the pan, even crashed franchises. RG3, Wentz, shoot there for a minute people were thinking Baker Mayfield was going to save the browns.

As far as flash in the pan, I don't care how BP would play in HOU this season, which may be a real test of who he is. He gets to play in SF. So KS is holding the play sheet, CMC is lining up next to him. BA and Deebo out wide. Kittle up the seam. Best in NFL LT and FB. How do you think that is gonna go? I think he will do great. QB play is very situation based. He has a great situation. I am not saying that's 'all he is'. JG had a great situation also, so did Trey Lance. BP looked special. But hard to see him as a flash in the pan, playing with the guys he will be playing with. It would be difficult for that to happen imo.
