Really unimpressed with him in DEN, but this could be a guy who perks up in a better environment,
much better to be playing with a lead also, as a rusher
I approve the move, essentially a free trial here, has I think DEN is picking up a lot of the $$ and the pick swap is near irrelevant

It would be cool to pick up a Mr. Irrelevant - hall of fame offensive tackle - next year.

Isn't this guy good when he has played?!

Six sacks is his most in a year.

That's because the guy has spent more time on the sideline than on the field

If he stays on the field it's a steal, if he doesn't then we're not paying much anyway.

Has it been because of injury or off the field stuff?

Wow, why would the Bronco's do this? They barely got any compensation.

Excellent trade for us. We just cut him next year

They were going to cut him and owe him the same regardless. So they at least moved up a little bit in a late round.

what OL and CB are available worth trading for?

No OL will be available. Cb will come down to who has a bad October and looks to sell. A guy like Adoree Jackson should be available once the Giants get whipped in Miami and Buffalo

My understanding is he is a headcase. Lol but if he can stay on the field, it'll well be worth it. I'll take 10 loonies if it gets up a chip.

My only worry is Locker Room Chemistry,

This is a tight, focused, positive group of Players. RG has had many well know issues through the years. Hope he doesn't f*** things up for that vibe.

I have no doubt that when Warner and Bosa take him over into the corner and explain how things are done here, he will get the message.

Just don't pee on Wilkes car Randy.

Some of both but mostly the latter.
I don't think people realize how thin our DE room is right now behind Bosa.

Jackson is still a project IMO. He has incredible bend and athleticism but he's not a great rusher yet.

Ferrell might have the worst bend I've ever seen, but he hustles and looks the part.

And Hyder is a little order now and not the same as he once was.

You can bet John Lynch was not happy with our production on the edge. We expect to be the best and come at you in waves, Gregory may or may not give us that, but we're always trying to improve our rush. Which is why I love this regime.
If the reports are true that Denver is picking up a large part of his salary, then this will be a zero risk move. The pick swap moves us back what, maybe 5-6 spots? And we save like $20 on the cap for it being a 7th round pick instead of a 6th! :)

But here's the thing: This is just like that first date, when you just meet for coffee. It's the warm up to the 2nd date - the REAL date - where we say, "so...about that Patrick Surtain II guy...."
Very low risk if it doesn't work out. Potentially a upgraded rotational edge. No real reason not to like it.
As long as he doesn't pee on a coach's car, the locker room should survive this acquisition.
Lynch called about Surtain and broncos sweet talked him into Gregory. They were going to release him anyways LOL.

There's no way we're paying him all of that, right? Dumb trade if that's the case.

Lol who cares. We have the cap. And it's not like he's signed for the next 5 years. Don't worry about Jed, he's got enough money.

You want to keep Aiyuk? Because this mindset is how you lose Aiyuk. Cap space can be carried over.

We will have like 25-30 mil to roll over, cap is going up again next year and there will be some players off the books (Ford is finally off the books as well next season) and we also have players we can restructure.

The only way we lose BA is if he asks for ridiculous money or if he just wants to leave for whatever other reasons.

Agree, but desperate bottom feeding teams will throw a ton of money at him. I'm not confident at all we can keep him. He does have another option year, I believe where the 49ers can tender him an offer, but after that - it's the free market. He'll command a big chunk of change from that point on.
