Jackson is still a project IMO. He has incredible bend and athleticism but he's not a great rusher yet.

Ferrell might have the worst bend I've ever seen, but he hustles and looks the part.

And Hyder is a little order now and not the same as he once was.

You can bet John Lynch was not happy with our production on the edge. We expect to be the best and come at you in waves, Gregory may or may not give us that, but we're always trying to improve our rush. Which is why I love this regime.

Yeah, I agree. Idk how people don't see how much of an upgrade this is. Would you rather randy "crazy ass" Gregory or Kerry hyder rushing the passer?

How many pass rushers does one team need? We need OT and CB more on this team. I'm not calling it terrible. Maybe it's even good. I just don't fully understand the move with some other holes to fill.

Besides bosa at end, thats all we got, the rest are just guys

This move doesn't prevent other moves. It is just a piece that became available and ShanaLynch jumped on it. Good decision.

I think we would have been foolish to pass on him with the deal we pulled off to get him. He's a beast when dialed in!
This is absolutely amazing!

he is our Charles Haley

Good post, this was my line of thinking. Our guys as you mention would be a lil up the creek without Nick. Just the reality, right now. Now if ppl consider the interior, we got some action there, and Nick is great, it's that edge rush spot, opposite Nick.

what OL and CB are available worth trading for?

No OL will be available. Cb will come down to who has a bad October and looks to sell. A guy like Adoree Jackson should be available once the Giants get whipped in Miami and Buffalo

bolstering the talent on the DL helps the secondary too

Uh, what the hell is going on?

Going all in this year

It's either that, or another kick in the pants for Drake. Both Lynch and Shanahan indicated at the end of last season that they expected more out of him. He did have a nice game against Pissburgh. But I haven't heard his name called since that first game. Can someone chime in on this? It could be that. I can't believe the 49ers would suddenly give up on Drake Jackson after less than two seasons. But I can believe they would give him proper motivation to make sure he makes an impact every Sunday.

You're probably right. The sacks that Jackson did have in week one wasn't him winning his one on one with the tackle. They were more cleanup sacks off pressure created for him.

Agree, but I'm hoping Drake continues to progress. This may have been a move to motivate Drake, or at least should motivate him, if they think he's lollygagging his game play.
