8 sacks in 5 games is atrocious especially for the amount of money invested on the d-line.
but again we had similar production last year im sure we can find an 5 game strech where we had 8 sacks. And it isnt like we are league bottom or anything. Including last playoff game we average about 2.7 sacks/game last year was 2.5
honestly the biggst reeason for why it feels this way is ast year Bosa was a DPOTY and this year he wasnt close to that type of raw production
But last year we didn't have Javon Hargrave or Chase Young. With how much $ and draft capital we invested in them they were both supposed to be big upgrades at their respective positions. Our secondary is better than last years playoffs, linebackers are the same, but the overall defense feels much weaker.

we have more qb sacks than last year and i think we are 3rd in QB/ hits or something like that i think its one of the reasons why we consistantly lead NFL in interceptions past few years which is the pressure generated
WZ: it's not all about sacks. Pressures creating those ints. is good.
Also WZ: what's up with our dline not getting any sacks.

thats why our secondary/pass D is better imo we are allowed to get similar pressure numbers as last year but this year we are blitzing less (only 2 teams blitz less than us this year vs 12 teams last year)
Our run D is worse yes but think thats personnell Hargrave has always been a bit weaker against the run and this year the EDGE opposite Bosa isnt great at setting the EDGE

Young will be going up against a very good tackle in Taylor Decker, who has given up 8 sacks this year. With a backup at LG, Awosika, there will be opportunities for the right side of our D line. Decker is also very tall, 6'7.

Crazy to think that at the point that Young was traded to the Niners, he had more sacks all season than anyone on our team.
Man, I wish our scheme could fully utilize him and everyone better.
It's hard to imagine Young on last year's team not being better than Ebukam and others.

His first half was rough, dude getting just drove off the los. Getting zero push and not setting the edge. He needs to improve. Second half was much better to his credit
