I'm not sure Sweat was an option. He wanted a new big contract which the Niners couldn't afford.

Don't think it would matter with Wilks as DC. I don't know if it's a matter of him running a defensive scheme he isn't familiar or comfortable with, or if he's just that bad. We know it isn't personnel, because most of the players were on the team last year.

Young is not ready to play against the run, in fact he's so bad he's a gaping hole out there. Should be relegated to just another passrusher and get someone out there that can stuff the run on early downs.

Gregory and Beal Jr are also basically just pass rushers. This is a big problem ever since Ferrell went down. They don't have anyone besides Bosa who can set an edge. If somehow Bosa needs to come out the run defense on edge is atrocious.

Slide AA out there on running downs. He's done it before. He's not my favorite player but he's clearly better at setting the edge than Young.

I have been saying he is a good player and he has been receiving harsh criticism all year.
