Unless he agrees to a cheap contract which I don't see him doing, he can walk. A lot of fat needs to be trimmed. I think he and DBo both made themselves trimmable.

So Chase Young has one game to write his 49er destiny.
No he won't, and they honestly should trade kittle and deebo too while their value is good, they both on the decline
Took you one game to decide that huh? If Deebo wasn't on the decline in the NFCCG, then he isn't now. Kittle had a 1000 yard season. If anything, I'd be all in on the OL upgrades so I could use Kittle as a receiver even more.
I like this a lot.
Kittle as a blocker JUST HAS TO BE REDUCED going forward. In critical run situations fine, but in normal pass/run downs, Kittle should at least be standing up more.
Unreal he wasn't more in this game.

I'd rather re-sign Ferrell. He was missed huge in the playoffs.

Yeah, no way you sign him long term. He's like Dana Stubblefield all over again--except Stubbie was amazing in a contract season. Young was merely an okay rotational piece this year. I'd hate to see him with a three year deal.

Young played great yesterday IMO. I still wouldn't re-sign him, but he showed up yesterday for sure.

Stubby was amazing all 5 years. But we wisely let him walk. Same should happen to Young. Furthermore, with the holds that are allowed, no matter how egregious, I just can't see investing in D-line to that degree. We should be thinking about what guard can allow us to block Chris Jones one on one? Their D-line will only be better next year. I also think with the way Brock can see the field, you'd ideally want Brock having 5 pass options on pass routes. We can't get that if our O-line can't hold up, both run blocking and pass blocking.

His play yesterday is exactly why u dont sign him. Its there, he can bring it but only when he decides to. These kinda guys will always let u down. Its actually worse than being a #2 pick who never shows u anything

I agree, they were all gassed at the end. Resigning is if he's healthy, the price is right, and the team believes in him.

You are right, the new norm sucks but the league is going to protect the QBs and with that being the new norm, strength based bull rushers like Young and Bosa become less effective and less valuable. They can be held at will.
Slippery rushers who use their hands and elusiveness more will be the new kings of pass rusbing.
The league's angel Mahomes is certainly going to be one whose line is allowed to hold endlessly because the league wants him to play until he's 50.

If he wants to comeback on for 1-year deal, that's cool with me. A full offseason with Kocurek coupled with continued PT on that repaired knee could help tap into his potential.
Gotta be a prove it deal, tho. He ain't getting no bag from us.
