maybe the other team didn't want to trade him 2 weeks ago? Chase is from the DC area. maybe he wanted to stay home for whatever reason and changed his mind. or the deadline and the results of the last 2 weeks heated up the talks.

Bosa, Hargrave, AA, Young - If Wilks cannot scheme to generate a pass rush with THIS front 4 he has no earthly business being our, or any team's DC.
Bosa, Hargrave, Kinlaw, AA, Young.. go 5 1v1 matchups with hella stunts

That 5 man front won't need to stunt or run much game to get pressure. But when we do pressure should be nearly instant.
what's his contract situation? Is he a rental?

Currently a rental.

Washington probably thought they had a chance to beat the Eagles due to their first game. It makes sense from that standpoint to hold onto him until the deadline.

Last year. I would assume that yes he is a one year rental.

Most likely, yes, just a rental, but at this point not an absolute certainty.

He's better this season than everyone else on the team not Bosa. (at edge)

Not significantly better. It doesnt move the needle much.

He's apparently 6th in the NFL in pass rush productivity.

Ugh still have Wilks who'll waste him with stupid schemes

Dont know the salary numbers for this year but if he is just a rental we seemingly get the conditional third right back... or maybe he takes a discount for a 2 or 3 yr contract to have huge numbers with Bosa and prove his health. A niner friendly contract for 2 years to let him ball out with his old college teammate before a mega contract is possible. He did just get traded for a conditional 3rd round pick... but hey Gregory got big paid from the broncos after being just average so who knows.
Lol who cares. It isn't going to make any difference with Wilks. Just another waste of a pick.

If bosa and hargrive were any good this wouldn't have been necessary.

Bosa leads the NFL in QB hits.

Isn't the problem that the opposing QB is getting the ball out too quick effectively nullifying our pass rush?
Then our corners are getting burned. OUR CORNERS ARE GETTING BURNED.
how about we actually address the problem?

Yep, because of the soft zone coverage scheme. More press man and the DL can eat.

If Washington had pulled an upset over the Eagles, those deals would not have been made. Reports were it all hinged on the outcome of that game.
