Yes, character is most definitely discussed. Look at the comments Kyle made about Randy Gregory after we traded for him.

Organizational setting can potentially be a major factor there.

One season you're with the Raiders and a quitter… the next you're back to being the most dangerous offensive weapon in the league on the Pats…

Yeah Trent Brown is a special offensive player

OK. From what ai have seen is 0laywrs recently come here and flourish so it could be very promising. I love the pick-up!

The 49ers as an organization, from what I hear, take amazing care of their players and families. That could be a YUGE influence on where he re-signs.

That and the veteran leadership.in this locker room. I whole-heartedly believe he will be a more disciplined player here, playing for a contender that just happens to he the best franchise in NFL history.

No matter, it's a low cost high reward trade. I like it. lFG!

Damn near got him for free in all likelihood. Pushed a 3rd rounder back a year and spent .5 Purdy's.
How much of his remaining salary did the 9ers take on? I know when we picked up the DE from the Broncos earlier this year, we only took on the pro rated portion of the minimum, and the Broncos ate the rest.
I think it's a pretty good move. We'll see how he does in Wilkes system. Just thinking about the summer we could have had a proven commodity like noguki or Houston for 10 million or less. And here we are scrambling in week 8. Oh well I guess we had to see that Drake Jackson wasn't going to work out. I think we're setting the table for our next DC whenever he shows up

Justin Houston-0.5 sacks

Yannick Ngakoue-2.0 sacks

They didn't miss out on anything.

I would take the Gregory deal over either of the players you mentioned.
If the Niners aren't the lowest % blitzing team the rest of the season, Wilks will be run outa town.

That's cool, they allowed it over there, but it wouldn't be allowed here.

He will be led by a great leader here, his new position coach doesn't screw around. plus Bosa will show him the ropes again, there was a reason they were both picked number two overall.

Yikes. Maybe not. Does this guy have any speed rush?
This is the benefit of having a quarterback on the rookie deal.

He's only costing us ~ 600k. If he's here beyond this season, that could be different.

True

what I'm saying is our roster would look a lot different if we had a franchise quarterback on a franchise QB contract.

100 percent. We'd be able to pick up a dude at this price though.
