no need for the handwringing over can we resign the guy,

He said we can add him while keeping BA. No brainer.

We all love AB but he thinks and wants us to keep everybody. It's just not going to happen. You really think they are going to add another 20 million a year plus contract to this d line?

He usually does a fantastic job outlining how we can do it, can you show the same for why we can't?

He mentioned moving some Deebo money down the road and that would clear a lot of cap space the next year or two. If Chase plays great why shouldn't they make a serious run at him?

Well let me rephrase that. I should've used won't instead of can't. I will agree with AB on whatever his numbers say. It wouldn't be a smart move. This team has to invest these funds into other areas of the team. How can they justify four d lineman making 20 million a year and can't pay a decent guard or right tackle to block? Or pay a decent slot CB? It's would be really bad way of constructing your team to dump so much money into one position. Just like paying Deebo and BA both over 20 million a year when they are a low volume passing team. It makes no sense.

I agree with everything you say, would really like to see the team invest more at CB and OL. That just doesn't seem to be their MO. If Chase balls out, maybe we can limp along with this atrocious secondary, but something needs to be invested in OL. I just want to see us winning again. This has been the longest bye week ever.

He'll also need to play left T and DB on 3rd downs…lol

they will need to think long and hard about giving someone like Young a big deal...they are STILL paying Dee Ford and we all know how that went

The wallet really starts to tighten next season. A one plus for Deeb. And don't get me wrong. Love Deeb and not a hater but he feels like an overpaid decoy/blocker at times. Brandon has stepped into the spotlight and to me the one to keep. I'm worried Trent is going to retire one way or the other after this year. We need to buy or draft highly some OL pieces. Deeb could be a casualty of need over luxury item.

If Chase balls he needs to stay.

Can not afford to lose Deebo, watching the offense while he's been out should have told you that. He brings things to the offense and forces defenses to do exactly what Kyle wants. When Deebo has been out, even the run game is suffering. We need both Deebo and Aiyuk.

Disagree.

yes the offense is sputtering but it's Shanny that changed allot during Debo absence.

Where we typically send those fast wide screens to Debo outside numbers he could have still done that. Choose not to try it with anyone else. Debo isn't the only speedster on the team but those and slants are his bread and butter. Putting anyone else in at running back could have also been done. JHC we have other running backs but that wasn't done either. I love Debo but Shanahan didn't even try with any other receiver when he could have.

i think Shanny needs to allow others to actually step up in the absence of stars and not hide them. It would help for the future and evaluations. He drafted them he needs to trust his evaluations.

We can keep BA, Deebo, & Chase long term, might cost us a Aaron Banks, & Randy Gregory(pretty much a guarantee he gets cut or traded if Chase is re-signed), also guys like Lenoir would be casualties.

I know we can't keep everyone, I still believe we can keep Mooney, AA, & Dre, plus keep BA, Huf, & Chase, just means we lose Banks, Lenoir, Gregory, but the deals would have to be structured friendly, I've already started with projected contracts for all but Chase, & Lenoir.

You'll see we can keep the core together, and I didn't even touch Deebo's deal, I also didn't release or redo Gregory, as I want to see Chase play for us for a bit to see how he does before I say extend him for sure.

If chase does a spectacular job this year like proving worthy of a 2nd round pick of the draft and a generational talent, maybe we can let AA go. But it's only if, we have to play out the rest of the season first.
