Morale honestly plays a bigger factor than I think folks realize sometimes. I mean, look at the Raiders after McDaniels getting fired. Their team was so relieved, it was a major weight off of them, and their defense -- while it's been against bad teams -- has only allowed 18 points over the past 2 weeks.

Getting Young and then Deebo + Trent back I think was a big boost in terms of mental energy for us. The mind is freaking powerful. It can help you go further than you expect, but in a bad state, can literally hinder you physically to perform below your capability.

It's especially magnified in the NFL where the margins are razor thin.

I personally think morale is huge in the league, just like it is for any job. It's a long season and these struggles can be intense and disheartening. Guys are hurting, frustrated, it's a long season - it's hard to go as hard as you can every week.

our team does a really great job of gettjng up for every game but I'm just glad this skid happened before the bye in the first half of the season.

now is the time for them to go on a terror and play their best ball. We have a lot to play for in every game remaining.

Seattle is tied with us for the division lead, eagles have a really hard slate and we may be able to catch them still, lions are catchable, playing for seeding almost every week.

If young does leave, we could potentially get a better pick back for him than we gave up for him. Lol wild

"Let's assume Young is a rental for the 49ers, and signs a free agent deal elsewhere for, say, $23 million a year in March 2024. It's likely the Niners will get a third-round Compensatory Pick in return in the 2025 draft—unless they sign another high-priced free agent or two, which is unlikely given their current salary structure and need to re-sign their own top players. If Young leaves and the 49ers get a third-round pick in return, the pick would be likely be somewhere in the 97 to 101 range. Let's, for fun, call it the 99th pick.

So this trade could end up being:

San Francisco trades the 101st pick in 2024 to Washington

San Francisco acquires Young for the final nine regular-season games in 2023 and possibly some number of postseason games, plus the 99th pick in 2025.

Imagine getting the benefit of Young for 11 or 12 games—and then a slightly better draft pick than you traded for him."
Would rather keep him, than the dreaded 3rd round pick

We have hit on like 1/12 third round selections since Lynch/Kyle have been here. (Fred Warner).

id much rather keep young. I've always been a big fan of his and I'm hoping him enjoying playing here with Bosa (dear friend), that he is willing to work out a contract that works for us. Our team is crafty and we may just do what we did this year - change a bunch of base salary to bonus and spread it out.

still need to see how he does but I've always really liked young, big fan of his. Mountain of a man

Chase and Bosa could be this generation's Young/Stubblefield, except they're DEs not DTs.

So then maybe Chris Doleman and Roy Barker?

Those guys weren't with the 49ers for very long and were towards the end of their career. Chase and Bosa are entering their prime. But yeah, something like that.

Yeah but I mean Stubbs and Young were only together from 1994 to 1997, right? Didn't he leave after the DPOY award?

Doleman was with the 49ers for 3 years, I thought it was shorter. Yeah sure, Bosa and Chase, like Doleman and Barker. I'm down with that. Need to draft some replacements for Banks, Huf, Greenlaw, or whichever players the 49ers can't retain by paying Chase.

Believe it or not, but the 49ers can retain most of their core, even with Chase signed, takes losing some players like a Banks, Lenoir, Gregory, but we can keep Ward, Dre, AA, plus BA, Huf, & Chase. Won't be signing any big name FAs though.

So we sacrifice some Jag's to retain great players. I like this kinda party

I'd like us to retain banks and Lenoir - they're quality players and I don't think will be too expensive. It's not like they're playing like top 10 players. Not everyone can be an all pro.

It isn't a huge deal if we lose both of them, I really like the Luter kid we drafted.

im curious to see how Beal jr looks too. Just another freaky dinky athlete that can come off the edge.

They can keep drafting players to fill in for those positions.

Trade Aiyuk for a 1st tound and draft a WR with that pick.

I don't think we can keep Deebo and Aiyuk and extend Young.

They can keep all 3, it's doable, check out my offseason plan for 2024, https://49erscap.com/index.php/2024-offseason-plan/

Nice!👍

Thanks man

That's awesome - I was trying to find something like this. Young players very well and consistently made his presence felt. He did a good job of setting the edges and getting pressure - sometbing we desperately needed.

This was the first game I've seen in a while where we consistently got pressure on both tackles. Beautiful to see.
very large man

OMG, that block he takes...damn near broke him in half. Unbelievable.

But soooo much to like here. Hero has to be so hard watching this. Thanks for posting.
He must be closer to 290 right now, he is absolutely gigantic. 264lbs is a joke of a listed weight.

Unfortunately, he also looks a little slow/unexplosive. His power makes him still relatively effective off the edge, but perhaps less impactful on watching that all-22 video compared to what i expected while watching the game.

I agree that he doesn't seem to explode off the line and go at the OT, in this game. Seems to want to stutter step then get into his move. I'm not very technical to this stuff so maybe I'm wrong.
Heroism? Thoughts on his pass rush moves?

I remember wanting to go back and see what AA was talking about getting kicked then at 00:39 it's clear as day that dirty f**king move.
