I just think it's ridiculous to assume that any player is going to go wherever they get "the most money". Lol I can speak to a ton of players who didn't do that. A lot of it comes down to structure, guaranteed money etc. playing for a good organization and team typically comes with some sort of haircut. Even hargrave could of got more elsewhere (he spoke about it).

im not saying we are going to resign Young for $5M a year. Lol but I can see him taking 3-5M less to stay here than he can get some crappy organization.

not everyone's motivated by solely money, especially someone's who already made $34.5M and he's 24-25 years old.

money is important but he isn't just going to go wherever he gets the most money, IMO. I don't think that's true for most players and I've seen a lot of ex players talk about regretting doing that. I hope we resign him but for like $17M, who knows.

i feel like he won't have many teams, if any, looking to give him a 3-4+ year contract cause of his injury history. It'll be interesting to follow

Both he and CMC have experienced that, I would guess they are much happier in SF. Although money is a motivator for sure, being happy where you work and winning has its advantages as well.

Dude is such a physical presence on the edge. He doesn't win as clean as Bosa does with his hands, but he's so damn physical and battles through contact that he consistently finds a way to affect the QB. It seemed like every other rush that Chase was physically putting a hand or two on the QB, making them uncomfortable and moving them off their spot. You can see the linear explosiveness when he gets going. Dude is a freak, and I think he's just getting going in this scheme. I've said this before, but I think Kocurek puts an emphasis on winning through contact and keeping QBs caged in that. Chase is built for this.

I'll also point out that I don't think he's fully recovered from that ACL injury. He's pretty stiff at the top of his rushes, especially when he's rushing from the left side. Not that he's ever been the bendiest dude being that tall and high-cut, but he doesn't seem comfortable breaking down on that repaired right leg around the arc. One thing I talked about in the past when comparing him and Bosa was how much better Bosa is with his hands than Chase. Hopefully being around Bosa every single day will help Chase refine his hands.

Good stuff. His sheer size and strength make him a force in run defense, which was something this defense badly needed. That video had one example of how effective he is setting that edge. Being around Bosa and Coach KK is going to refine his pass rushing technique to new levels.

Having two beasts at edge is something Lynch dreamed of, and I think he will sacrifice others parts of the team to retain this two headed monster. But if this doesn't last, it'll be so much fun watching these two guys work the remainder of this season.
