I would do an incentive based deal right now if the offseason were today, I still think on the open market he'll command somewhere what Montez Sweat got, $24.5M a year, I'm fine paying him that, now that Gregory's deal voids, we need to keep Chase IMO.

I'd love to keep him, but not at $24.5mil/yr. He's a good possibly great player, but that's more than Hargrave signed for. We'd have $100mil/yr just on the defensive line. We'll see how the season finishes, but while he's been very solid and a clear upgrade, he's not blowing me away with his play. Bosa had more sacks last season than Young has in his career.

I wouldnt sign him in 2024. Worry about Greenlaw, BA and Purdy, which would be 2025.

nahhhhh... Greenlaw can walk... in fact we need to invest on some LBs in next year's draft.. ones that can takeover in a year or two..

CHASE gots to be signed.,.., he was often injured AT Washington ..... but that was there.. it MAY be different here..,.and for those who's been following sports for a long time, you just know when a guy has that IT !!

Yep. IMO Dre and Mooney are the best non-rookie contract value guys on the team. Dre for $8.5mil./yr is a steal.

We need to reup Warner too. Mooney, greenlaw, and Warner are all coming up after next season.

Chase probably asks for what Montez Sweat got, $24.5M a yr, it's doable, Dre wise, somewhere in the $12M a yr range seems fair, that would put him top 8 highest paid off-ball LBs, maybe as high as $14M a year. Mooney should be somewhere in the $14M-$16M a year range. BA I think gets close to what Deebo got, $23.85M a yr, maybe a bit more like $24M a year or $25M a year. All doable IMO.

Good stuff. All benefit due to the suppressed cost of Brock. I think we need to fill some holes next year via rookie draft and hope for a 1st rounder RT.

Thank you I hope we get this done. All those players are needed for what we do on defense. Ayuik is a must as well. I'm glad we cleared all that cap space for next year and can hopefully use that extra for larger signing bonuses to keep the cap figure for 2025 in line for Brock and others.

We would be really dumb to pay Chase 20-25mil a year. What has he done to deserve that type of a contract?

10-15 mil a year. Short term contract and give him a player option. So if next year he has a breakout year then he can go chase the money.

It's the market rate. Sweat has never had over 10 sacks in a season, and yet, that's what he got.
I do agree with offering a shorter term contract of 3 years or so, not as much guaranteed money. He should be able to put up great sack numbers opposite of Bosa, and then test the market at 28 years old. He can really cash in then.

We'll be losing these guys off the line next year, it's better to lock up Chase and get some bargain DTs in FA

Chase's roof is higher than those 3 and he's a lot better than Sweat I think.

Plus with his age, Greenlaw should be part of the future core group. At least for the next 3 years. Also, Greenlaw's intangibles like his character- humble off the field but a freaking lion on the field is hard to find. Between Warner and Greenlaw, I think it's Greenlaw who is closer to Patrick Willis but I said this without taking away anything from Warner. Warner is just a different kind of warrior, he's like the "Ultimate Warrior".

WOOOOOOOOOOOO !! GO NINERSSSSS !!!

Huh, Dre is a must keep with Mooney next year.

AB what do you think about what it will take to keep Chase and Dre...We need them both. Love your Cap and salary estimates. Thanks fine Sir.

But that's what I don't get. Market for what? Take out his name and draft position and pay him based on his production, that doesn't cost 25mil on the open market.

Then you take his injury history into account, there's no way he should cost that much.. and I'm sure there will be teams that offer him 20-25 mil a year, but that's just ridiculous.
