Nice to have a savvy vet like Ryan around to be able to fill in on a moment's notice.

Yes sir like this week.... hopefully he can help this week.
I thought a bad sign in Ravens' game was when they targeted Gipson and drew 3 penalties in one sequence. We're suddenly pretty, um, mature at safety. and not great at corner with Ambry out. Sounds like Luter is up next there.
I'm glad to see Ryan start this game. First off he is a vet that has seen everything the NFL has to offer and shouldn't be as easily tricked like a rookie. This is a perfect game to get his engine tuned up by playing and not really have to worry about any mistakes he might make getting used to game action because the Commanders do not have a QB that is good. Verrett had to deal with Lamar Jackson and the Ravens in his first game back and was just too rusty. Ryan should be just fine. Also we are serious about winning a SB and getting as much veteran leadership on the field right now is huge. Normally if Vets still have something left in the tank, they raise their level of play when the lights are the brightest and there is something to play for.
Since we signed Ryan, I wanted him to start over our rookie safety. Can't risk blown coverages or missed tackles in the playoffs. I hope he does well for the next 2 games so he can start in the playoffs
I hope his level of "savvy vet" is leaps and bounds better than Jason Verretts or we're in a heap of trouble.

He very well might be but he can cover about as good as my drunk uncle whose left leg is 3 inches longer than his right leg 😎
Really solid game from first glance.

Got a penalty on a hold, which was deserved, but one thing I've noticed - very dependable tackling today. No whiffs, no unnecessary hit stick, no trying to rip the ball out in lieu of tackles. Just dependable wrap up tackling thats safe.

Anyone here think he should start over Brown in the playoffs? Feel like we would get more consistency out of this guy.

It's something I've thought about given Ryan's very good experience/play that includes two SB championships. With Brown being a rookie where his inexperience could surface and/or be taken advantage of, we'll see how the coaches feel going forward this season.
