Anyone here think he should start over Brown in the playoffs? Feel like we would get more consistency out of this guy.

It's something I've thought about given Ryan's very good experience/play that includes two SB championships. With Brown being a rookie where his inexperience could surface and/or be taken advantage of, we'll see how the coaches feel going forward this season.

Gotta see the all-22 but it seemed like he was more assignment sound than Brown and obviously doesn't whiff all over the place in run defense like Brown does.

I think Brown is fine and just a rookie. But this guy has the veteran savvy and experience. I believe he did reasonably well. But I honestly didn't study him all game. I didn't notice too many huge mistakes. That's always a great sign.

We also need to consider we played a subpar team. If Brown played this game and had his own interceptions, our narrative would have been different.
Logan looked better than Brown IMO. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets the nod over the rookie for the playoffs.

I wasn't watching very closely, did Ryan stand out in any way versus ARI? I'm curious how well Brown has grasped all the presnap audibles that may not come quickly to a rookie safety - an area Ryan may have a leg up on simply from being more experienced. Ryan and Gipson could be the oldest safety tandem in the league.
Man it never fails how far the reactions go around here after one game.

Nothing crazy that I saw. Brown has made some nice splash plays the past few games, but he's taken bad angles and tries to blow plays up instead of breaking down and tackling. From what I saw it appeared that Logan was the surer tackler.

I'm confident Brown will be a long term starter for us... but again, it wouldn't shock me if Logan Ryan was the better player currently. Especially since we haven't seen a lot of the rookie just yet.
So this was the guy who caught Tom Brady's last touchdown pass.
S, like DT (even ER), where you can find cheap, quality veterans just about any time of the year. This FO has done a really nice job bringing them in.
Logan Ryan is so much more instinctive and a much more sure tackler. My goodness. It's night and day. The difference is massive. He needs to start during the playoffs. No rookie back there. No way.

I like Brown just fine, so I'm not trying to compare, but in any case Ryan looked good today. Enjoying himself, focused, and ready to ball.

I really think nowadays safety starts to stand out as a position where you wanna have either elite (top 3 in the league) talent or just not waste draft/money and go with cheap vets. You either get a Hamilton or just sign a Gipson Mathieu or whatever vet who got something in the tank.

DT used to be like that too but slowly seems to be changing

Most definitely. With the cap, you can't go big at every position. So take advantage of the oversaturation.
Agree that ryan looks good.
