Shanalynch thought they could take Lance's physical traits and his ability to run and his tabula rasa state as a QB and then mold him into Kyles system. That didn't happen.

I didn't think it made much sense to draft a QB that you know needed to play and then sit him year 1. He had already not played in a year and now it's basically 2 years. Then he gets hurt week 2 the following year setting his development back even more. It would be hard for even the most refined college QB's to go nearly 3 years without hardly playing. But have an already very inexperienced college QB going 3 years without hardly playing? I don't care how physically gifted you are or how hard working and how smart you are, You are not going to have success.
