I didn't like him from day 1. He comes off as a smug, egomaniac. He took over for Paul Tagliabue, who was pretty popular in his time.

I recall Goodell's first course of action being the league's disciplinary policy/code of player conduct. (Pac-Man Jones, Chris Henry, Tank Johnson, etc were all running wild)

I remember the criticism he faced for the arbitrary nature of his punishments.

He's been at the helm of so many rule changes, adding permanent Thursday night football, more and more international games… and many other changes fans don't like … but like many have stated, he's made too much money for the owners. He's not going anywhere

Owners tell the commish want they want and he makes it happen and announces it to the fans. He gets painted a bad guy while the owners sit in a corner and don't comment on anything. They can just say that's what the league wants.

Since Goodell has been the puppet for NFL owners, there's been much more controversial calls. From what I've than from the Tagliabue era. There's a reason Goodell gets booed every year during the draft, that's never happened with Tagliabue.

Goodell is not going anywhere but that doesn't negate the fact that he is complete POS.

Trying to obscure the fact that the 49ers' practice field conditions were ass and doing a piss-poor job of trying to control the narrative.

As long as he shuts the F up and stays out of the spotlight he seems better, even though he isn't.
