2 games in and there has been 0 creativity with the front 7. No twists/stunts. I think maybe 2 blitzes. Only real movement is playing Bosa at RE Hopefully he learns form this. Not sure what input the former chargers coach has.

There have been multiple twists/stunts.... Literally on the first third down, the stunt pressured darnold and he scrambled out left for like 20 yards because there was now no DE.... Due to the twist/stunt

when you see Nick f**king Bosa out in coverage, that's Brandon Staley's input.

Kyle is a simmering dumpster fire that just gets put out every year by CMC

Overreaction? Did you watch Sam Darnold without JJ, Addison, Jones and TJ drive down the field in the 4th Quarter throwing to a bunch of scrubs?
I did and it was ugly.
Nah dude, overreacting for sure. It's only the second game of the season.

I've seen Bosa drop into coverage under Ryans/Saleh albeit extremely rare. If that continues to be a thing then yeah, it's probably Staley's influence.

Yep, that was some sloppy rush lane integrity.
Sorensen blitzed Fred Warner on the 97-yard TD. I just thought to myself, "there's your blitz, Webzone."

It's only week 2. I'm not really sweating it too much.

I came to conclusion its because the offense usually puts only five in pass pro and even the RB will leak out more often than not even if theres a blitz
On other hand when our D blitzes, offenses often have a TE or a back who doesnt leak but stays to block
When Niners blitz theres a lot of risk and not a lot of reward. What's the last time a blitz worked we had an unblocked blitzer and the blitzer was able to sack the QB or force a bad throw ?

I don't even think it's a Sorensen issue but the scheme itself has hit its expiration date.
And maybe some advanced stats would prove me completely wrong but it seems like the high-level offensive minds have little issue carving it up nor does it seem like anybody on opposing offenses are confused with what they are seeing.
If it wasn't for Warner the Vikings would've had more points on the board than what they had and he kept 10 or 14 points off the board by himself.
But watch that final Vikings drive and on both critical 3rd downs where the defense absolutely had to get off the field Darold drops back and lets it rip for easy conversions.
Shanahan isn't going to do it but he should really scrap the scheme for something more creative and aggressive.

You mean when Kyle went to a SB with the trash that is Jimmy G and no CMC?

I am not sure we can blame the DC or the Scheme. The players are getting outplayed. Fred is the only bright spot . Pass rush is weak, we can't contain Sam Darnold…. Let that sink in. The backside is as bad as ever. Safeties…are a mess. There is a lot that needs fixing.

Maybe they should bring in better players? D'Vondre Campbell hardly looks better than Flannigan-Fowles. I'm to the point where I wouldn't mind bringing back Kwon Alexander. Odom is horrible and Brown is no better than Odom.

Well if we do that it won't be during the season.

I never understand why fans overreact to every win and loss. They go from this team is terrible and Kyle should be fired to we're going to the SB. It's an emotional roller coaster. I guess I used to take losses harder than I do now but I always tried to put them in perspective and look ahead to the next game. This is a good team with one of the top coaches in the NFL. There are going to be good and bad play calls as well as good and bad performances. Every play that's called is designed to work only if each player does his job AND the other side doesn't defeat his man. Any breakdown can cause the play to fail. It doesn't mean that Kyle is an idiot.

This is true. Kyle doesn't do blitz pick up. He prefers our QB react fast and hit an open receiver that's singled of wide open. Unfortunately our QB is probably going to get sacrificed and popped.

Because he is new here as DC. He will be under the microscope all season. That said, our defense thru the years is not the issue and never has been for the overall picture. We may have some blunders and injuries along the way but most of time, end of season the D has been graded pretty special.
I would say we have more talent on offense, and taking CMC off the table can underperform. Even in wins it feels too close for comfort.
I love Kyle, you have to say it and I do, but I do wonder if he just focused on the team as a coach and we had a full time sharp OC at the realm what would happen. Even Kyle has said during preseason when he turned the reigns over he was bored. His job is not to be bored. It is to ensure everything is running to highest standard and coach up. But yeah, I wish there could be a trial run just to see how it goes but of course there isn't.
But Sorensen will be watched like a hawk all season, bad and good. With many complaints to come over the course of a season I am sure.
