When thye released Floyd I thought it was because they were close to signing Joey Bosa. Wrong. This signals that they are going to go hard in the draft for D line and LBs.

no need to act like this is a big loss. it's not. he'd be 33 in september, and Floyd had a below-average pass rush win rate (8.4 percent). It aligns with how inconsistent he was and that he only gave a few impactful plays. Floyd came on strong late, but was a ghost for stretches of the season.

He's a big name, but no longer aligns with what we need at this time.

Joey Bosa too. We need to get rid of the old, expensive players. It will hurt at first, but it will pay dividends.

Are you saying this upcoming season is going to be worse than last season?

I still think we compete for playoffs, if healthy, offense should move, but I think the Defense will be a work in progress. Will probably take a year with all the new and missing pieces.

Ididn't want him gone because I felt in a pure pass rushing role he could do well, but let's not overstate his production. He was poor against the run and did not consistently apply pressure. And Drake Jackson isn't making 10 million dollars. He can be a camp body.

My only complaint is Lynch should have gotten some draft compensation. Some team could have giving us a sixth rounder for Floyd?

Remember how long Yannick Ngakuoe sat unsigned and he was a far better pass rusher? Maybe they could've gotten compensation, it's a fair complaint, but maybe they tried and couldn't?

I remember a report of teams complaining about how many comp picks we get for minority hires, maybe teams don't wanna trade with us.
