This dude will always be known as a quitter, that is his legacy, well done. Idk if I have seen that before, someone just quitting..in the 3rd quarter of a game? Sorry yo fat azz ain't Greenlaw and btw, Greenlaw would never do such a b-ass thing like that, ever. Ain't no Niner and never was!! C ya.

I remember Vontae Davis not just quiting but straight up retiring in the middle of the game with the bills. He later died a few years later

I do feel it is a little different, Davis actually retired. It sounds like Campbell just threw a fit, and then did not retire.
The desire left him and the abilities faded quickly after his injury. I can understand not wanting to struggle through a whole season with no desire.

When I read his quate where hs said he didn't need to play anymore because he was rich I understood why he wasn't very good with the Niners and why he quit on the team. Money or lack of it is a great motivator and players now make enough that they can quit playing after a few seasons.
All this will be forgotten in a couple of years. Then we will see him serve as a guest expert somewhere, then sub for someone on a network pregame show then all of a sudden he'll have his own show and be put on a pedestal. We will hear he's grown since then, turned a new page, forgive and open your hearts (and wallets). All the "normal" stuff. No? Look around.

Who has followed that trajectory?

Most NFL players have no loyalty to their team. They'll leave in a heartbeat if it means a little more money. One thing players still don't like is a guy that quits on the team when they need him.
So do we control his rights? Like he can't sign with any other teams because he's still under contract wit us?

Refused to come into a game and then be put on a pedestal? I seriously do not know who has done that.

After previously refusing to leave the game, causing several 12 MOTF penalties, too.

I don't expect to see this guy on NFLN or anywhere else. Plenty of folks who conducted themselves properly to choose from.

Kenny Powers was my only guess

No he's a free agent and I'd be shocked if anyone brought him in.

Pretty much. If he was halfway decent or better, teams would forgive it. Dionte Johnson literally did this to the ravens last season and got picked up by Texans after

But Campbell was raw f**king garbage. You couple that with being a quitter and you're done
As much I hope this douche doesn't get signed anywhere, I have a feeling someone will pick him up.
