I just hope that Graham or Winters take a step forward to take that #2 LB spot but I'm not counting on them to do it because Warner and Greenlaw were starters in their first year.
Maybe the rumors say that we're looking for a safety because we're going heavy with dime defense

Yeah, it's a pretty big loss Tbh, but the 9ers do have a good track record of drafting linebackers, so I'm confident they'll find another gem through the draft.

Listen if I would've listened to half the stuff they were telling me I would've NEVER went all pro. All year all I heard was "Can you do this? It'll help the scheme" I kept saying no all year and look what happened. First Team All-Pro 🤷🏿♂️. https://t.co/ohx1kzLcgU

Fast forward to 2022, 2023 season I tried to be a team guy and play within the system and do what they asked "Be more visual on QB and not look up routes" "Back up from LOS so I'm not pressing every WR or TE" Look at what happened. They had me, Quay out there looking clueless smh

Because we ran a split safety system meaning we use our safeties a lot in the run fit so if I shoot my gap before the safety triggers we can get gashed so most of the time me and quay were just tryna buy time for our safeties to get there. We don't have MOFC structure https://t.co/HVdFC5LP6d

I don't think it's a big deal… I just think it's a bad look. He's free to do what he wants in this context. It just doesn't move the needle.

Thankfully a one-year prove it deal is whatever, so very little risk

So basically he ignores coaching if he doesn't agree. Awesome. 🙄

Pretty much. Good thing we have some guys that will keep him in check. Sure hope Winters is ready to battle in camp.

Especially since it cost him a ton of money if it is true about the coach

Yeah it's pretty bad for a LB like Greenlaw who counts on his movement sideline to sideline. We had two great LBs not recover however that was some time ago, Bowman and Jullian Peterson. Bowman went through completely tearing up his knee but after his Achilles he was never the same. Klay Thompson for the warriors is not the same as well. It's a really bad injury for an athlete.
I think the good news is nobody is expecting Greenlaw to handle the bulk load. That will always be Warner. If our new DC is any good he should be able to work with Greenlaws limitations in a specialized role, at least at first.
Yes it will be a much better rotation no matter what. if your correct and they understand the new role for Greenlaw until he's either healthy or hit his ceiling in a rotation they should be OK at the LB spot.
